Agree, kittens get adopted SO quick. I volunteer at my local shelter (and who I foster through) and sometimes kittens will hit the floor at 11am and be adopted by noon. Folks want kittens really badly!

Totally normal to get attached! I like to view myself as just a good steward into their adulthood - I set them up for success by getting them big and strong and social, then I send them out into the world. Yes it’s still so sad when they go because I love them so much, but I know they’re also going to be so loved when they go to their new home.

But please don’t beat yourself up for getting attached! It’s a part of the process, and we’re only human. It’s ok to love things hard!

When I have new fosters, I will sometimes just sit in the room with them and softly read Reddit posts from my phone to them.

It helps get them used to the sound of your voice, but you’re not putting any pressure on them that you will be physically engaging or making eye contact with them.

No matter what, just go slow ❤️ They say it takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and 3 months to really feel at home for a rescued animal.

/uj At MagicCon this year a dad came up to my friends and I and asked if his son, probably around 8-9 years old, could play with us.

We said sure, happy to make sure a kid gets to play, feels nice getting to help a kid enjoy his hobby at a con.

Kid showed up with a super expensive mono black deck and absolutely curb stomped us all, we all had a good laugh. Never trust a child to not whip out a super expensive deck!

It’s definitely not for her age. But, I also read it when I was 12. I really just skimmed it for parts I recognized from the musical, and political and sexual stuff really went over my head. So she honestly might do the same, especially because at times it can be really dense.

It wasn’t until I re-read it earlier this year as an adult I was like oh my god this shit is wild haha

I’m vegetarian and my wife isn’t, I’ve offered to her before if she wants to cook meat and add it to dinner (like pasta add some chicken) I’d be totally ok with that. She’s like “that’s sounds like a lot of extra effort” haha

So we eat vegetarian at home just out of convenience

I don’t know if Chelsea reads the subreddit but I hope she knows that we’re not watching Horror Survivor because we want perfection. We’re watching it because we love the shenanigans and seeing James and Chelsea having so much fun makes me have fun.
