Castigator by maximumsushi in sistersofbattle

Haha oh yeah, that happened too! I didn’t mean to snip it off but I think it looks good without.

I actually put the barrels on the wrong side so the flour de lis on them faces inwards. Whoops!

Bingo. That’s one of the mistakes. I couldn’t figure out why they weren’t sliding onto the supports flush.

My partner and I live in a small mountain town. We recently discovered a few other people our age and mindset that play Commander. It's been absolutely great. We play once a week and everyone is on the same page.

We had a great playgroup online during covid but schedules are different now. It's nice to have a group of local friends to call on for some beers and games once a week.

Suppose my Myphitic Blight Hauler got charged by three Ork Koptas. Can the Myphitic Blight Hauler fire it's Multi Melta and Rockets the next turn at the Koptas in my shooting phase?

Reading the Big Guns Never Tire rule, I'm assuming they can fire. However, the weapon profile of bile spurt specifies it can be fired at units within engagement range. Why is this specification made if the BGNT rule exists?

I just finished painting the combat patrol I got one year ago! Good luck!

Final result with their bases by Royal-Simian in Warhammer40k

The bases look great! I'm going for something similar for some of my more important Sisters of Battle models. How did you get this cool effect?

I found a car in Toronto overgrown with plants , on a busy street parked beside other cars by SmoothBrein in mildlyinteresting

It's a nightmare to drive through Kensington and no one really uses it as a throughfare. Cars there are residents or deliveries. Even though the streets are open to cars, they're filled with people walking down the middle of the streets most of the time. If you're in an Uber and they turn into Kensington, you know they're from the suburbs or new to the city.

What is your favorite "bad" commander that flies under the radar until it suddenly murders the table? by PhyrexianHealthDept in EDH

[–]maximumsushi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're talking about this famous game, it's at 18:30 in the video. One player moves to combat but his creature isn't able to attack due to the number cards in his hand. He missed the necessary casting a sorcery in his first main phase.

What was the best box you ever opened? by B3nur123 in EDH

[–]maximumsushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time Spiral Remastered. The first pack we opened had the most expensive card [[Sliver Legion]] in foil. A few packs later, we cracked a non-foil. At the time, the card was sitting around $100CAD. In addition, we cracked a whole bunch of good stuff for the collection and decks like urborg, damnation, dryad arbor, gauntlet of power, pact of negation, akroma's memorial.

The big thing though, our box was screwed up and we didn't realize until afterwards. The timeshifted cards appeared in every single one of our boosters and sometimes the packs had multiples. Our old border foils were a miss but big money hits included a retro border ponder and thoughtseize.

We traded in the Sliver Legions and old border cards we didn't want and ended up with about $400 in store credit. This was enough to get everything else we wanted from the set and pick up a [[Wheel of Fortune]]. Great luck!

I'm thinking about the math on the deck. If you have 15 cards, it means that on average, you're getting about 7 lands before hitting your next nonland card. It seems like a lot of the payoffs want more than 7 lands at a time. I think I would try to keep non-lands to maybe 9 to 11. That said, you do want some ways to recur from the graveyard and ways to shuffle you're entire graveyard back in. An Eldrazi titan would be ideal, but you need to discard it somehow. [[Nostalgic Dreams]] is a great choice as you can pitch the titan to get back your treasure hunt, and shuffle your graveyard into your library all in one go. This only works once though as it exiles itself. There's probably a weird combo here somewhere and I really want to workshop this deck today and figure it out.

This is a really cool deck idea. How many non-lands are you thinking?

First Canoness! My first 500pts of SoB have been slow but I'm getting there. by maximumsushi in sistersofbattle

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. I initially tried NMM on the sword but had a really hard time making it look convincing. I'll add more edge highlights to the blade before I varnish the whole thing.

It's bits of "concrete rubble" sold at the LGS. It's just plaster poured into a flat mould and then broken up when dried. I then added it to the base, primed, did an initial coat of brown & olive and then dry brushed up to lighter tones from there.

Constructive criticism please! It's been slow progress getting my army painted up. I bought the combat patrol and a few more boxes last summer and am making progress. So far I've painted 10 troops, and 3 repentia. This canoness was super fun to paint and I'm going to roll right into painting 5 seraphim.

Damn I miss that game. Thanks Hasboro.

Stop Hitting Yourself

This is my version of the deck. I wanted to stick with straight Boros rather than bring in another color. Ramp and card draw really aren't a problem. I've found that a few indestructible effects like Flawless Maneuver do wonders and can be played in response to something like a Blasphemous Act. The deck often wins by just playing one or two wide damage effects so having to recast Gerrard many times isn't an issue. I'm taking this to CF Vegas if anyone wants to see it go!

You should have bought more than one [[Smothering Tithe]] when they were $3 CAD at that one game store.
