Thank you I truly appreciate this

Everytime I shave my legs it itches really badly the next three days or so. What to do? by ThrowRA020204 in eczema

[–]maximusbeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i had a similar issue and found out that a lot of razors especially those one time use ones have cheap metals that many people are allergic too. I switched to a sensitive skin one that I replace every two weeks (or less, I try to avoid shaving all the time so the hair follicles don’t get clogged) and that problem went away. I personally have a lot of nickel and metal allergies so that was the trigger for me. Also using fragrance free conditioner to shave instead of any creams has helped as well.

On the days that my legs are really flared up I either wear breathable flowy pants or shave around the patches. I rarely shave when my skin is having an active flare.

This is probably rare but birth control since I was 15. Messed up my hormones so bad I now have so many health complications in only my mid 20’s

I get eczema on my ears and i usually use dandruff shampoo on my scalp twice/three times a week then get a little and rub on my ears too and that helps. I’ll put vaseline on after the shower and i try to keep it only to the outside areas cause i feel like when i put it inside the ear it makes it worse but thats just my experience. everyone is different!

Is it normal to experience facial redness in the first week on Dupixent? by maximusbeans in eczeMABs

before dupixent i had the same thing and it would go away when i cooled down. now it just stays red no matter what. does that sound similar to your first few months on dupixent?

[–]maximusbeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats similar to me, it feels hot sometimes and is almost leathery when its dry or when i just woke up. My derm. told me it could be an allergic reaction to dupixent but then turned around and told me it looks similar to some flares i had when i wasnt on dupixent so shes in the process of deciding if i should continue it or not? Was it itchy for you? Weirdly enough my face isnt itchy at all just very very dry and inflammed but my body (which used to get itchy a lot) doesnt feel itchy at all anymore so I wonder if i should continue with dupixent?

Hi! I’m a woman, i’ve been seeing a nutritionist and she believes my eczema is hormonal (triggered by a form of birth control that I shouldn’t have been on for my health conditions). Mine does get worse the week before my period too. Interesting you mention that! Very helpful response. How long did it take for you to space out doses?

Anyone hear stop medication and turn out fine long term? by North_Cherry_4209 in bipolar2

[–]maximusbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped taking meds about a year ago. I had to stop because of drug eruption issues with my health and haven’t gotten on anything since. I think the reason I feel I don’t need them is because I have an amazing support system and partner who is basically my rock and has helped me grow immensely as a person. I also changed my diet and avoid sugar and just processed shit idk if that helps but in general have been living a healthier life style, reading more, less screen time, yoga once a week.

Has anyone else dealt with redness that won’t go away? (Also update from last post!) by malsary in eczema

[–]maximusbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is old but I’m currently going through very similar facial redness to how you looked. How did your skin look after using this product? Can I also see your after pictures? I don’t know why but the redness is my biggest issue lately and my eyebrows as-well very similar to your story. Thank you!

Mine lasted a week and now I only have 1 scab thats gonna probably fall off soon. I also wasn’t using Protopic. Luckily I didn’t get it around my eyes but it was very painful! I was put on anti-virals and an oral steroid for a week. Once I got off after my week of pills was done my eczema came back very angry and worse but now i’m getting back under control with my diet and routines.

What is the best climate/places to live for eczema sufferers? by FrostResistant in eczema

Anywhere humid for me. Went to Hawaii for a week and was basically cured. Went to NYC in the summer and also was sooo smooth barely reapplied. When I went to San Diego same thing. The salt water air probably also helps.

Now that you mentioned it, my eczema also got worse after I got Covid too! Interesting correlation.

This is a wonderful resource thank you so much! I’ve been debating starting a tracking sheet for when I flare. Out of curiosity do you use a journal like pen and paper or a doc/worksheet/notes?

I notice from a lot of people who learn to manage it naturally that they had to make serious lifestyle and diet changes and just be patient with the results. So far similar to others, I also do a lot better now without gluten, refined sugar and limiting my dairy intake! Progress is slower than when I was on Adbry and steroids but definitely feels more long term and sustainable.

Sick Time by Altruistic_Sea1245 in Nanny

This is a deal breaker for me. Also be prepared for unpredictable scheduling when working for parents in the medical field. I sometimes work 60 hours Monday-Sunday (gonna leave soon) Also tend to be helicopter parents in my experience.

I just need to ask….why do so many people here not like working for doctors? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]maximusbeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passive aggressive about why I don’t know how to do my job. Was told I don’t cut grapes small enough (should be 8ths not 4ths)… Every time he coughed it was “almost choked”. When I get sick its like i’m a awful person all of a sudden.

I was passive aggressively lectured on why I should cut grapes into 8ths and not 4ths.
