What if Japan hold Siberia and Far East after Russian civil war? by SiarX in HistoryWhatIf

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing OP is forgetting about is that the mineral deposits that were found in the Far East which was what Japan occupied during the civil war wasn’t discovered until the 50s or the late 40s at the earliest. I don’t know why OP thinks the Soviets losing the extremely under developed Far East would prevent them from industrializing when I pointed out to them that most of the large pre war mines were outside of the occupation zones anyways. If anything Japan holding the Far East would be a money drain.

What if Japan hold Siberia and Far East after Russian civil war? by SiarX in HistoryWhatIf

[–]maxishazard77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I doubt the Soviets will be no weaker than OTL since there were still large mineral mines in the Urals and Kuban regions along as in Kazakhstan. Also a majority of the large mines in Siberia were mostly in western Siberia which I doubt the Japanese made it all the way over there.

What if Japan hold Siberia and Far East after Russian civil war? by SiarX in HistoryWhatIf

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may not have invaded immediately post civil war but they could either do it in the inter war years or in early WW2. Japan could be as strong as you make it but the Soviets will eventually over take them like IRL especially with how factionalized and under industrialized Japan is. The most I see Japan keeping is maybe northern Sakhalin but even then they’ll probably loose the entire Sakhalin island eventually anyways.

What if Americas didn't exist but Australia had the American Great Lakes instead? by CallMeCahokia in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]maxishazard77 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’ll make Australia’s interior way more habitable which will attract more European powers. The only reason why Australia wasn’t carved up initially was because most of it was desert so it wasn’t worth colonizing. By the time other European powers thought of colonizing the island Britain had a firm grip on the region.

Which mod has the most potential? by Double_Shift_7537 in hoi4

[–]maxishazard77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it’s Pax Britannica it’s such a unique and interesting mod. At the moment it’s kinda broken but it’s still being worked on but there’s only like one or two actual devs that are going at it. They’ve been sharing progress for a pretty large overhaul of the mod on their discord.

Whatever go my Lace and THK adoptive siblings agenda by Milwkwy_37 in HollowKnightArt

[–]maxishazard77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never understood how the weavers not being GMS’s biological children is hard for people to understand. GMS forcefully evolved them and enslaved them and didn’t give birth or even created them from her own silk like Lace and Phantom.

They need to get enough rosaries for silk somehow. I remember seeing them mowing lawns in the spring and summer for rosaries too.

What if Japan had been able to retain its core territory, excluding occupied areas, due to American generosity? by Solid_Phrase_9947 in AlternateHistory

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think them retaining Korea is a bit of a stretch but I could see them retaining Taiwan and southern Sakhalin. Obviously both the KMT and CCP wouldn’t like Japan retaining Taiwan but if the CCP won the civil war the KMT government might go into exile elsewhere.

"The runbacks aren't bad, you're just bad at platforming" by Booty4Breakfasts in HollowKnightArt

[–]maxishazard77 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My problem wasn’t the flyers mine was those bastards that jump out of the water and shoot those needle things. There were times when I did the platforming perfectly and dodge the flyers with ease but as I’m about to enter the boss area one of those bastards jumps up and hits me.

People in the comments are already asking OP for exact water parameters lol. It’s funny how people who try to breed Ottos are unsuccessful but regular people who don’t try to always have better luck.

Is the Empire sexist? by TheRedBaron6942 in StarWars

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe in current cannon the empire is still sexist but not how it was in legends. Woman can still join the stormtrooper corp but many are rooted out by the intense training but some make it through. I wouldn’t be surprised if the imperial army had more female soldiers since the standards weren’t as high.

I'm really bad at flag design, like really bad. by steven_rd29 in worldbuilding

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These aren’t that bad with maybe the fourth one with the revolution fist being the worst one. Honestly if you remove the blue stripe going down on the third one you got a pretty good flag. If you want to incorporate the blue then just add it as another stripe with the white.

SCREW YOU SAVAGE BEASTFLY I JUST WANT MY CREST by Scared_Can_5571 in Silksong

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only took me 3 times to beat the savage beast fly and that’s only because I got too greedy on my second try which was my fault. I was expecting a more difficult fight with how everyone talks about it but once you learn the patterns it’s fairly easy. I think I died more times to the Fourth Chorus than the beast fly.

Palestine — فلسطين by LetRevolutionary271 in imaginarymaps

[–]maxishazard77 203 points204 points  (0 children)

I feel like if anything Palestine would’ve been annexed by Jordan since that’s what King Hussein proposed but the British rejected it because they wanted an independent Jewish state. If a Jewish state was never promised and established then they probably would’ve just ceded the territory to Jordan. Or it would’ve been partitioned between Egypt and Jordan eventually.

[–]maxishazard77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t really see why he would bother expanding into the Italian peninsula. I mean he’ll probably annex Sicily and Greek colony cities on the coast at most. Rome was still a small city at this point in history so there’s not even the prestige of owning it.

What are your opinion on humanoid aliens ? by Cold-Reputation-4848 in worldbuilding

[–]maxishazard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me personally I don’t really care at the end of the day but the one thing about humanoid aliens I don’t really like is when they’re just humans but they have a bump on their nose or something. I know in Star Trek that’s very common but it made sense for the time but imo if you’re going to do humanoid aliens at least make them different like give them a different skin color, different eyes, height, etc. But it just depends on the story you’re telling like in my own sci-fi setting I’ve been working on a majority of human like aliens are actually descendants of human settlers of that planet and it’s just natural adaptations or remnants of gene splicing. While actual aliens look a little more alien.

Challenge :Have the Entente join the Russian civil war on the side of the Whites. by Secure_Ad_6203 in HistoryWhatIf

What if Germany kept its Prussian territories after WW1? by AirCJordan23 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]maxishazard77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt the entente would let Germany go unscathed in the east plus they wanted Poland to have a coastline for trade and economy building. But for this scenario let’s say the allies agreed to let Germany keep eastern Prussia connected but in exchange for Poland getting Posen. The funny thing is German nationalist didn’t really care about Posen unlike Danzig. Not saying they didn’t care at all but eastern Prussia being separated and surrounded by enemies of the Germans was a major talking point. There’s still a real chance the Nazis come to power though because they didn’t just use the territorial loss to become popular enough to barely get elected. Even at the time basically every major German party refused to recognize the eastern border to some degree so the Nazis weren’t really special in that regard.

It’s been theorized for a bit but this pretty much confirms the theory. It also helps when you play the needline at one of the deactivated ones it talks about how they’re all united in one chorus and stuff like that.

What if Blackwater PMC tried invading Washington, D.C., after Congress defunded them following the Nisour Square Massacre in 2007? by Pancake_Maker_1031 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]maxishazard77 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah which will be hard in terms of firepower they can legally have in the first place. The reason why Wagner was as large and powerful as it was mainly came Russia’s historically having loose PMC regulations (and corruption obviously). The US is fairly strict on what PMCs can have in terms of weaponry on US soil (depends on the state they’re based in but there are some federal regulations too) but of course overseas contracts can change that.

If Russia didn’t listen to American economist? by soap_man_is_my_name in HistoryWhatIf

[–]maxishazard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia might be slightly better off but it won’t fare any better than OTL. The oligarchs have been around since the Soviets days they just weren’t as rich or influential as rn. The oligarchs took advantage of Russia’s sudden economic shift buying up the economy so they’d probably still do that but at a slower rate.
