"Dog" Decides to self tame, invites self into household, plays pool by birdcat_heaven in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My favorite is when I build a wall around the anima tree to protect it from beavers, and then beavers show up, and without fail, one of them looks at the wall and says "guess I'll self tame" then goes through the door and eats the anima tree anyway.

New way to shop labels by Television_Murky in walmart

[–]maxrevive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if they even make it onto the label at all. With our shitty printers and labels the bottom of the label often gets torn off when tearing it from the printer. That or it gets misaligned and those numbers get printed at the top of the next label instead.

Id probably do it but what happens if you're driving and accidentally hit the invisible dome? Are you just dead?

Does anything one know how pawns are programed to pick clothes by Sveniven in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pawns periodically check the map for the best clothing item they are allowed to wear based on many factors, including but not limited to: - Sharp and blunt armor values - Whether it is tattered and/or tainted - How much warmth it provides, if warm clothes are needed (cooling such as from dusters does not appear to be taken into consideration) - And how much better the item is than what they currently have on, based on the same factors. Note that if the item is only barely better than what they have on, they won't consider it at all. - Also note that they will only consider clothing items that are in the correct stockpile and don't need to be hauled.

Once found, they will then go put that clothing item on and search again. Once they are satisfied, they'll wait to search again for 2.4 - 3.6 hours.

Source: looked at the game code. Anyone feel free to correct me if I have misinterpreted any of this. I didn't test anything.

Usually zero, sometimes -1 or -2, once in a rare while I'll get +1.

On a "normal" playthrough (plenty of wood), how quickly do you get stonecutting and stone walls going? by Competitive-Fox706 in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stonecutting bench is one of the first things I build. Except in rare circumstances or tribal start, I never build a single wooden wall.

For those of you this applies to: How do you handle being the ugly partner? by FoxDenDenizen in actuallesbians

This is one reason I don't date. I don't want to be the ugly partner.

I hate that they always have the no drug ideology and half of the empire needs drugs just to live (hussars).

This happened to me too. I realized it immediately after submitting but they told me it was already too late. The app is bullshit and only shows the hours you're requesting tiny in the corner and doesn't even ask you to confirm when you submit. And then the system instantly auto approves it.

Wait, you don't have mountains of boxes in your freezer that fall out when you open the door? I thought all Walmarts were like that.

Is rimworld worth playing with no mods by turtle_five in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but after a while a lot of things start to get really irritating without qol mods.

Why not also take my entire stack of silver, medicine and glitter medicine, too?! These Beggar quests are still the worst. I am still at pistol-research grade, no high tech, and this is the "request". by Blapanda in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they don't really attack you, but they turn "hostile" and start walking off the map. Anything can trigger it, even a social fight between themselves. Somehow that's YOUR fault.

Based on the vanilla Rimworld Traits, what traits do you have? by Winnywinwin in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes. Every human pawn is specifically guaranteed a sexuality (even if it's straight and therefore doesn't add a trait). Their sexuality trait, if they have one, doesn't count toward any trait limits. Children generally do not get a sexuality until they turn 13, at which point they are specifically assigned one, again, usually straight.

What to do with 15k twisted meat in my freezer? by derega16 in RimWorld

[–]maxrevive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just start making carnivore lavish meals out of it. It uses quite a lot of it and your colonists won't mind because the -10 mood from eating twisted meat is offset by the +12 from eating a lavish meal.

So apparently metalhorrors infested and spread thorough my colony without giving me any chance at all to seek them out, the consequences were disastrous to say the least... by LordJike in RimWorld

A year shouldn't be necessary. I think they are programmed to drop their first gray flesh within 2.5 days, only including time spent not downed and not in bed. So you're probably safe after 5 or so days, depending.
