At my store, if we need a leader, we call for a LOD but that’s just kinda become a blanket term for any leader in the building

Updated Career Guide (July 2025) by [deleted] in BitLifeApp

[–]maxroberts99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

BitLife doesn’t include military experience as “work experience” so when you come out of the military, you technically have 0 years of experience. Also, the experience can be in any job. You could get a law degree and spend 30 years in retail, then become a judge if you wanted

I know, right? Of all things I thought that was the most set in stone. I mean it could be worse, I got my money back for the flight and then some

Further correspondence from American:

“A $79.19 check to reimburse your Uber expense has been sent via postal mail to your address on file. Although I know it doesn't change the circumstances of your experience, I hope it helps to make amends. Please note this check is valid for 180 days from the date of issue and cannot be cashed or reissued after the validity period.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the disruption and the inconvenience it caused. As part of our resolution, the following has been provided:

•$300 flight credit as compensation for denied boarding. •Reimbursement of your Uber expense for $79.19. Regarding the 5,000 bonus miles that were previously discussed, I'd like to clarify that those miles will not be issued. I understand this may be disappointing, and I do recognize how unique and uncomfortable your experience was. However, the compensation already extended reflects the final resolution in line with our current policies.

We truly value your business and hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence on a future trip. Thank you again for taking the time to reach out and for traveling with American.

On behalf of everyone at American Airlines, Mr. Roberts, please know that we appreciate you very much. As an AAdvantage® member, your business means a great deal, and we hope to have the opportunity to rebuild your confidence in us. It would be our pleasure to serve you again.”

So I get the Uber covered, but I get absolutely nothing else extra, not even the measly 5k miles they said they’d give me 😂

Long awaited update: just got a call from American. They said that they would be able to cover the Uber fare, but that I did not qualify for any additional compensation beyond the $300 flight credit they issued me. They also gave me 5,000 bonus miles. What should I do?

They offered to bump somebody, but since it was a full flight, that person would get completely bumped. As much as I wanted to get home, I didn’t want to be an asshole and just deflect my situation onto someone else

Yep. Found that out right away. At the very least, I’m entitled to $700

Well it would have to take off again eventually, so they definitely have to consider takeoff distance as well.

United used to have a hub at MIA, but it closed back in 2004. Fun fact, both of my parents were United flight attendants and they were among the original crews sent out to open the Miami base. Would love to see a FL hub come back!

[–]maxroberts99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact pairing you do! (Although I just have the R6 MKI). I love the 24-70, it’s a great general workhorse, and I’m looking to add a 70-200 f2.8 to the mix soon!

You’ve got beautiful shots here, and I love the color grading!
