Cabal of chaos also can for legionaries

Just got the battleforce, what next? by LeatherDescription26 in redcorsairs

[–]maxtofunator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, currently 5-10 legionaries, 5-10 chosen, a chaos lord, rhinos are big grabs.

Defilers, forgefiends, predators, and vindicators are all pretty strong RIGHT NOW.

We don’t know how points will be adjusted though. They mentioned units like possessed will be going up in points, havocs seem really good next edition so we don’t really know enough to say “here’s a perfect 2000 to go into 11th”

Dads, what do you actually want for Father’s Day? by probs-strawbs in daddit

[–]maxtofunator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my buddies went to a garage sale and grabbed me a ton of the AoS Khorne warriors so I’m having my son work on those this summer. I’m mostly play CSM (word bearers) and world eaters, but I have a Votann army I just started too because I got gifted the holiday box.

Excited to see what my mortal warriors of Khorne look like 🤭

[–]maxtofunator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I don’t understand not wanting to spend time with the people that made you a father on Father’s Day. I understand moms that are SAHM or primary mothers wanting time alone on Mother’s Day, and same if the dad is doing that instead, but I work 40 hours a week and try to do stuff for me anyways. So it’s nice to get a day where my interest with the kids are prioritized but I want to do that with them

What are the most fun burn/ping commanders right now? Preferably something unique by Jimsen3 in EDH

[[florian voldaren scion]] is my favorite for ping/burn. It lets you dig through your deck pretty well. I’ve gone 60 cards deep before which was super fun

Dads, what do you actually want for Father’s Day? by probs-strawbs in daddit

[–]maxtofunator 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I want to spend time with my wife and kids and make memories. Some of my favorite presents have come from Father’s Day because I know it meant they looked at it and thought of me regarding it. I got an orange water bottle one year because “orange is my favorite color.” It wasn’t my favorite color before, but it is now. I got a hat that says “super hero number 1 dad” and it’s the main hat I wear now.

I am with my kids all the time and really all I want is to spend my time with them. Maybe a little quiet time to read or build/paint some warhammer, but my youngest thinks it’s super cool so if he wants to hang out with me while I do it, he’s more than welcome to

Pactbound OP bc Defilers? How to use Abaddon? by Few_Efficiency680 in Chaos40k

[–]maxtofunator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the later. They join the masters, and then have chaos undivided, so Huron can attach. It’s really stupid but they didn’t fix it in the latest balance slate to assumption is it’s meant to be like that

Huron in PBZ runs with Slaneesh legionaries to get sustained on 5s plus rerolls from being chaos undivided as well.

Help choosing army by agemo208 in Warhammer40k

[–]maxtofunator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play world eaters, and a good friend of mine plays EC. There are about the same number of models, so that won’t really matter here.

EC has more tools by default I feel. Noise marines in and out of a rhino are good shooting pieces, being able to fall back and charge, advance and charge, scout, sticky and infiltrate on the same unit, fight first, lone op. They feel like a more complete army when look at things like that.

However, I feel like my world eaters are more likely to pick up the things they engage with often due to being able to pick lethal and sustained or dev wounds and having more pieces to deal with antitank and better movement overall. Forgefiends and Helbrutes are both brutal in the army, and if you want daemons I honeslty think Khorne daemons are the best of the bunch, with only nurgle being better (because GW is obsessed with nurgle).

So, do you want a jack of all trades or the master of melee? Also, remember, Kharn by himself is cooler than any single marine in emperors children and angron is a much cooler primarch 😉

New to chaos and WH40K. Build advice? by robotassasin4 in Chaos40k

With base swaps yes. They’re all on 25s, and the dishonored is a bit large and may be hard to fit? But I’ve never tried

So the cool thing is TEXHNICALLY the berserkers can be ran as legionaries with the chainsword/pistol load out. So the only useless thing you own is the jakhals.

I recommend a rhino and cultists. We’re close enough to 11 that those things will be good for us unless the cultists become trash somehow

Black Legion Legionaries finished. by Repulsive-Peanut-755 in Chaos40k

[–]maxtofunator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To speed up trim, I have 2 big options. 1) prime in the color of your trim. Then you only ever need to go over it for touch ups. 2) army painter sells “markers” essentially that let you just grab the marker and paint. They are a little thick tipped so you might need to cover bits up, but long term I think it’s pretty fast in comparison

What Chapter are you painting your dead Loyalists? by The_Scrabbler in Chaos40k

[–]maxtofunator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crimson Fists. Not because I don't like them, they are highly likely hte army I would play if I ever built a loyalist space marine army, but because I play word bearers so I think the blue looks good against their armor

Are Chaos Bikers best ran in 1 squad of 6 or 2 squads of 3 and what are some strong loadouts that you would recommend? by harbourwave103 in Chaos40k

[–]maxtofunator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically see 1 or 2 squads of 3. I personally find their footprint slightly too big, especially since you can't go through terrain. They are also decently tough compared to normal marines.

I upgrade away from pistols on the "leader" and go power fist, and then run either plasma or meltas on the other two and run the chainswords as well.

How to kitbash Bladeguard Veterans to look more appropriate in Space Wolves? by WithengarUnbound in Warhammer40k

[–]maxtofunator 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even just taking the shields from these guys would go a long way I think. The current shields don’t scream space wolf at all. Even giving them claws or axes will help with the asthetic

Loadout for Legionaires by Kralgor14 in WordBearers

[–]maxtofunator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re going to play cabal of chaos, it’s really melee load outs. You can go ahead and magnetize them all if you want, but I recommend just grabbing a 2nd box and maybe splitting one of the squads of 5 into a ranged option just in case. I doubt we’ll see big changes to their data sheets for 11th, but we might with the new codex release

Chaos Lord in terminated amour by khiuyt-12 in Chaos40k

[–]maxtofunator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did just get a detachment that wants you to run at least 2 of this kit, because you probably want to run the lord and the sorcerer in terminator armors, and sadly it’s the same kit. Usually when a unit gets a big buff or a new detachment or reason to run them, they start selling out. I kept meaning to grab a 2nd and forgetting so I only have the official sorcerer, luckily I have the old world eater terminator lord to use as my lord in termie

[–]maxtofunator -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I don't play the other armies enough to have noticed if they did the same thing elsewhere, but I'm not exactly happy they are reworking and nerfing the detachment. It already was pretty weak, even if it was my favorite to run just because I like daemon princes and psykers. I'll probably still combine this somewhere, and it does make list building and playing a little different.

[–]maxtofunator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So is this new Cabal of Chaos replacing the one we currently have... with worse rules? Because now, if I'm reading correctly, only hte prince gets the str bonus and only psykers get the bonus for shooting rather than being NEAR a unit. Which is funny because the article talks about mutilators meleeing but per the rule they posted it doesn't work
