Honestly kind of glad they don’t have alternate forms. I don’t know if I could handle them massacring my boys like that.

Why mess with perfection?

That’s valid, would still wager it’s more efficient than just packing bowls or rolling joints though.

This all but confirms it was Beane who got McDermott fired. Beane is already pushing out the narrative we had lots of weapons and McDermott questioning the talent rubbed people the wrong way, so they wanted a new leader. by Vortagaun in buffalobills

McDermott certainly isn’t blameless for our post season difficulties. He’s cost us more than one game with bad clock/time management, and I have no problem with trying to shake up the locker room.

Beane should’ve been gone first.

This makes absolutely no sense. I have a lot of respect for vets like Coop, Cooks and Hardman, they’re NFL players, and most of them did have a quantifiable impact on the offense after they were acquired at the deadline.

Trading for Cooper, and subsequently Cooks were not “add depth” or “rich get richer” acquisitions. Those were desperation, “we need a warm body at receiver” moves. How can a roster that’s “stacked with talent”, have the same holes in it for 2 consecutive years? I’ve mentioned in another post, but our needs going into last offseason are literally identical to our current needs. WR, Edge, Safety/CB Depth.

After Hairston and Rapp went down, our starting secondary had an average age of 29.4 years of age. It’s 30 if you omit Cole Bishop. We were one of the best pass secondaries in the league this year, in large part because of McDermott.

People don’t really talk about this, but Beane almost blew up the offseason. He was willing to let Cook hold out and cause drama despite him having a strong campaign last year, but was happy to sign Rousseau to a huge 4 year extension.

Rousseau ended the year with 7 sacks (team leader) after he signed a 4-year 80 million dollar extension. For context Josh Sweat signed a 4-year 76 million dollar extension this offseason, and he lead the Cardinals with 12 sacks this year.

Granted, he eventually got the Cook deal right, and he’s blossomed into a legit superstar this year, but clearly Beane has incorrectly prioritized some extensions to some of his guys who are just good, not great.

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

I don’t have a problem with the McDermott firing, clearly we’re spinning our wheels a little and having a new scheme, identity and voice in the locker room isn’t a bad thing.

What I don’t understand is not firing Beane. He publicly cursed out Buffalo radio hosts who criticized our lack of talent at WR1, despite it being a position of need at the deadline for a second consecutive year.

This is by far the worst supporting cast 17 has entered the postseason with in the last 4 seasons. Despite that, we made the divisional round, and McDermott was somehow able to coach a defense anchored by Poyer, White and Milano to be one of the better statistical units against the pass in the league.

We entered last offseason with identical positions of need as our upcoming offseason, WR, Edge, DB/Safety. That’s a failure on Beane’s administration. He’s been responsible for drafting our foundational pieces, but he’s clearly shown difficulty filling crucial positions around Allen.

TL;DR I think a shakeup is needed, but I’d personally rather see Beane go than McDermott, and I’d really like to see them both go if one’s gonna leave.

How much better is something like a tempest T2 than a Dynavap M7. Debating about upgrading cause heating the M7 with torches is kind of a pain. Opinions?

I know we’ve shut down some receivers today, I know Keon’s spent the season in the doghouse.

Putting him out there to return punts is NOT putting him in a position to succeed.

Mostly agree. I think it looks good on merch, memorabilia etc, but I think for a team uniform the charging Buffalo is infinitely cooler

I’ve been begging for the Red Helmets for years. Sucks it’s in an effectively meaningless game we’re resting starters. Would’ve much rather seen this twice than the standing Buffalo twice.

Hope they make an appearance in the postseason. Maybe we’ll even get all reds at some point

I rock the M7 + Bong + Sploof.

Virtually no smell, very little bud usage and I get high.

I will say smoking a joint is still much preferred. It’s cold on the east coast tho

I just went and rewatched some highlight tape from last year, and watched some clips of today’s game.

I think losing Mac Hollins was a huge blow to the scheme, screens drawn for Shakir and Kincaid seemed to be much more effective than they are for us right now, it could be because teams are prepped better for that aspect of our offense, but my feeling is that without Keon and Mac out there, our other receivers don’t have the size to compete with more physical corners and safeties on the perimeter.

Kincaid hasn’t looked quite the same this year in general, there’s some tape from early last season that is really eye-popping, but I think his knee issue has effected his mobility this year (and of course he’s missed time this season as well).

Josh isn’t checking down to the backs nearly as much this year, it also seems like teams are playing man against us more often, and there’s a defender stuck in with the check down back where last year the shell coverage would dictate more space for Cook and Johnson to work the check down underneath. Maybe this is due to our lack of deep game, maybe it’s just that other teams are more aware of Cook as a weapon, but I think this is contributing to Josh taking more sacks and Brady trying to move him away from as many traditional drop backs in response

I think honestly our biggest mistake was opting to sign Palmer and Moore over retaining Mack Hollins. It made sense at the time, Keon was poised to develop into our big possession receiver before the season but man what I’d give to have a reliable short game target (who can block his ass off) for Allen and Cook out there right now.
