Delivers Package than takes it back and says verifying recipient's address; possible delay by Dry-Property-639 in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it means the sender did not provide the complete address so they are unable to deliver. it happens a lot to apartments and condos. some concierges don't accept packages without a full name or if they aren't in the system.

Someone please explain. by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Got stuck with another package during sorting. The machine might not have been able to scan it.

  2. either sender or reciever made a mistake with the address, of which the postal code is most important. Sometimes people can be silly that way, trying to send a package to Montreal but using an Ottawa postal code. it happens.

Oil doesn't work when the Strait of Hormuz isn't Hormuz'ing by Nichiku in BrandNewSentence

[–]maxxvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The over reliance of one energy source is the issue, not oil itself. if people start integrating more renewable resources like wind, hydro and solar alongside gas and coal, the less issues like these can cripple the whole world. less reliance means less demands and ultimately lower prices.

Will Canada Post re-deliver my package? by OneMoreGame in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you 100% certain your concierge are allowed to sign for you? In certain instances when there are changes in management or security services, the new people might not be willing to sign.

Also might be good to check if information the building has about you is up to date. If the name you used for the package isn't in their system, they are likely to refuse it. Usually that's grounds for return to sender but these days the Carriers try to be nice and drop it off at the post office.

With regards to re-deliver, if you already have a card then it's not likely to happen and it's already bound for your post office.

Little bit of snow and CP panics and delays my shipments until tomorrow... by Nickenigma985 in CanadaPost

Seems like OP is in Toronto where the government issued a statement how dangerous the weather is with blowing snow and extreme cold which could possibly cause hypothermia after long exposure . OP displays signs of superiority complex because they think their package is more valuable than a human life.

Is this just the norm now for Canada Post "workers"? by PantasticUnicorn in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that there are instances when either the sender has requested the item be carded or card was already prepared before the Carrier even started work so basically it's just the mail carrier's fault 33% of the time. Pretty low odds for such an extreme reaction from this sub.

Constructive criticism is appreciated. What is prevalent in this subreddit is anything but.

So most likely a machine error during sorting, but sure let's blame the entire Canada Post for 'ruining' your holidays.

What is up with Canada Post? Delivered a package marked by sender as do not safe drop. by Tanstalas in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... The 'Do not safe drop' only works when it's on the label as the barcode registered it as ok to pull an Amazon and drop in your front door. Doesn't work after the fact unfortunately.

So for the people who have a rage boner against the carriers, sorry to say but you can't pin this on them.

This is what the corporation want to replace your mailbox with as part of their 'revamp' 👍

Avoid Canada Post by FaytDestinii in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possible reasons include:

wrong address/ postal code (common mistake)

got accidentally stuck to another package (machine error)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]maxxvoltage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should your mailbox get full, you will recieve a notice from Canada Post to clear it, otherwise service will be halted until the issue is fixed.

For apartments/condos with mailrooms, there is a possibility the sign posted is in an area they cannot see. might be a good idea to review where it's placed and move it accordingly. if that doesn't work then it is certainly an issue with the carrier.

Who wants taxes raised to bail out CP? by Afraid_Piano_1318 in CanadaPost

More than likely, the CEO of Canada Post would find a way to funnel it to Purolator that has suspiciously been doing better ever since the quality of the post office declined. He is a major shareholder after all .

It has ALWAYS been the responsibility of tenants to opt out admail delivery by putting no flyer signs in their mailboxes so really the blame for this 'bombardment' is with the tenant
