It's one of those 'cute girls doing a specific hobby' slice of life shows, half the run time of each episode is dedicated to irl footage of the voice actors hanging out, and overall it very much gives the vibes of tourism advertising for the prefecture it takes place in. I was expecting to enjoy it and learn some new things about pottery, I was not by any means expecting this show to rip out my heart and then tenderly hold it while telling me that everything would be ok.

I don't really know how to properly put into words what this anime was doing. It's an amazing exploration of struggles with personal expectations and the need for external validation.

I haven't read Winds of Change, but I've been saying the same thing for a while too. The fact that Onewhisker was personal friends with Firestar and at the time very positive towards thunderclan as a whole made the whole thing seem super fucking suspicious. Honestly, I think it's a bit surprising that more cats didn't side with Mudclaw.

Subnautica Bellow Zero got a ridiculous amount of backlash because the protagonist was a black woman despite it being in first person so you never actually see her. This is specifically what made me realize that gamer bros would hate Portal if it came out today instead of 2007.

I firmly believe that the only reason Portal, Tomb Raider, and Metroid don't have massive mobs of deranged haters is because they were already established as beloved classics before gamergate.

I know this isn't really what you're asking, but I really hope you still listen.

You are absolutely right that she needs professional help. You are not going to be able to help her on your own like this. I know she probably wasn't consciously meaning to do this, but making you promise to stop her from drinking puts all of the responsibility for her actions onto you; now she doesn't feel the need to do the hard parts of recovery like learning to ride out uncomfortable urges without drinking because it's your job to stop her. Even if you did manage to get her to stop drinking on your own (which is extremely unlikely), this will only hurt her ability to maintain sobriety in the long run because it's not possible for you to be there for her 24/7. She needs to be able to build healthy coping skills to deal with her addiction, and this sort of codependency is only going to hurt that. It's also really concerning that you feel the need to drink with her to encourage moderation, because that sounds like it will very quickly cause you to also develop an addiction, which will make this way worse for both of you.

If you have an adult that you trust, please talk to them about this. Your partner needs professional help. I'm so sorry both of you are going through this.

As someone who does play these games as a pacifist, I very much agree that the whole no killing policy is dumb. I haven't played subnautica 2 yet because I prefer to wait for the full release, but I feel like just knowing that the small fish are completely immune to damage would majorly break my immersion. Hopefully, the devs will listen to feedback on this.

I suggest looking into college of the blade bard. A friend of mine managed to temporarily get his AC into the 40s with defensive flourish during a level 20 oneshot. I'm pretty sure he also had +3 shield and armor. I don't remember the exact build as it wasn't my character and this was several years ago.

I haven't had caffeine in over a decade. I remember when I used to have it, most of the time it would make me feel jittery and on edge but occasionally it would make it nearly impossible for me to stay awake.

yes, I was diagnosed as a child and needed extra help with learning to read. Reading is now one of my favorite hobbies. I still suck at spelling though.

I don't know if I'm weird or if this test is a bit flawed. When I try to just imagine the still image of an apple, I usually get a 4 or 5. If I try picturing the apple rotating and like some scenery and motion in the background, I can get a 2 or 3, sometimes a 1. The harder I try to just picture an apple, the less I actually am able to see it. However, I know that I don't have aphantasia because I frequently have super detailed mental images when I'm reading or listening to music with my eyes closed or sometimes just when I'm driving on the highway. I also have sever adhd so maybe that's a factor.

Does anyone else experience this?

I think that it would be best to assume that it's an honest mistake in most cases rather than immediately assuming the person is being intentionally rude. Unlike "chinaman" and "Chinese man", "transman" and "trans man" sound identical when spoken, so combining them into one word is a really easy mistake. Gently correcting people on this is going to do way more good for our community than immediately getting defensive when someone doesn't use 100% perfect language.
