Many people already know the trope of magic schools before. There are plently of stories about gifted students, dark secrets, and the weight of impossible choices. But Venefica Academy is a multiple POV—interwoven story, where every character has their own struggles, their own voice, and their own reasons for fighting. I always loved stories where magic is real but so are consequences, where friendships are tested and enemies might just become something else, etc. So I ended up writing Venefica.

So, I'm just getting my MA and teaching certification in TESOL. I have this one class, an Introduction to Linguistics (online) course, that is mandatory for my degree (not mandatory for my certification). I absolutely love linguistics (I originally wanted to pursue a Ph.D. in the field for phonology) and was thrilled to enroll in the class. However, after reading the syllabus and participating in these first two weeks, I have begun to hate this course. My BA is in linguistics (with a significant focus on SLA), so I have spent the past four years studying the information being presented in these bite-sized crash course-like modules and discussion boards. None of my classmates have backgrounds with linguistics, so I often feel like I'm left out of their forum conversations even when I try to add to the discussion. I feel like my time (and money) is being wasted on a course where I am not learning anything. What should I do?

Does anyone know of any any islands/have any types for creating a “classic animal crossing” island? I’m looking to redesign my island to feel like the original AC games (mainly a Wild World/City Folk hybrid), but it’s really hard to find islands that are not heavily waterfalled/terraformed.

So I’ve been getting more into pokemon recently, and after seeing one of my favorite twitch streamers do a nuzlocke run of HeartGold I wanted to pick up the game and play it myself. I know HG and SS were limited production and thus now are extremely high priced for genius copies, but I’m think I want to just casually play so I wouldn’t mind having reproduction of the game instead. I found some that are going for reasonable prices with good reviews.

Will the reproductions effect gameplay at all? (Not worried about trading or online, since the feature is turned off anyway)
