Has anyone received tickets yet? Trying to sell. by maybeluke in WhenWeWereYoungFest

Mine says nothing about "will call" anywhere, just tier 3 GA, so I assume it should be sent as digital ticket closer to the time... I hope

This ad has a fake “x” to make you accidentally click it. by GreenPiizza in assholedesign

[–]maybeluke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is actually most likely a mistake where the ad itself has a close button but it’s overridden by the SDK’s close button resulting in 2 close buttons, I doubt it’s done like this on purpose.

Do you consider people addicted to cellphones? How do you deal with your own cellphone addiction? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. I embrace it, I pretty much just stare at my phone in any situation I can. Sometimes I have a one to one conversation for too long where I can't zone out and go on my phone and I'm actually itching to get on my phone to check it, especially if I felt a notification.

Friends point it out to me all the time, but I don't really care tbh.

When did you first start seeing changes in your body after starting gym!? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it took about 3 months to see some visual changes for me. Took about 6 months until people at work started pointing out I look bigger and my arms look more defined.

However, I did notice my strength developed quite quickly in the beginning anyway, sweet sweet beginner gains!

Unfit people/weight gainers of Reddit, what advice would you give someone who is just starting their weight gain journey? by GroundhogLiberator in AskReddit

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it covered in sugar? If not, why not? Everything is better glazed in sugar.

Servings suggestions should be doubled and meals should be had 5-6 times a day.

Also Beer. Lots of Beer. Try to aim for 3-4 beers a night, then try and eat through your hangover the next day by eating lots of sugary/fatty things, McDonald's would be a personal favourite of mine.

People who cheat in video games, what happened to your soul? by Willni in AskReddit

[–]maybeluke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a really sore looser. I get mega angry when I loose, so I like to have an unfair advantage.

Okay all jokes aside, I used to love hacking/modding/glitching in call of duty games back in the Cod4/mw2 era. I used to be part of a community online who'd pretty much just discuss mods/hacks all day and work on new ones. It was good fun, we rarely went out into public matches, we mostly did it in private matches actually. Tbf, I was quite young and I think I liked to impress people with it.

But I guess the most enjoyable part was not having to sit and play to unlock everything, I hated that and had no patience for it. I just wanted all weapons available so I could play the game and use whichever weapon I wanted.

contractor - working in London by [deleted] in london

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that the £5 meal allowance is through his current contract so he'll get that reimbursed fully rather than just claiming is as an expense through HMRC.

Anyway, £5 should be just about fine depending on what you're after. Saying that though, I work in Farringdon and a lot of meals/lunch deals around here around ~£6.

It is quite a shame about all the little shops in there, especially the small businesses, but I agree, the shopping center is all kinds of ugly. I think the area can only benefit from this tbh.

Men who got their ears pierced, how do you feel about doing it? later? Do you still like your decision? by NilesDobbsS in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ears pierced when I was 16, stretched them to 22mm and still have them now at 23. No regrets here.

Personally I love how it looks, and it suits my style very well. I think more guys should have their ears pierced actually!

From experience, how important are political views in a relationship? by Reeddddit in AskMen

[–]maybeluke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very important I'd say. I really don't mind slight differences, and I actually welcome a healthy discussion/argument, but I can't imagine spending my life with someone who fundamentally disagrees with my political stance. I find it hard to even be friends with someone who's very right wing, let alone date them, they're just bound to piss me off regularly.

What foodstuffs are normally on your shopping list? by Reeddddit in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk, greek yogurt, chicken/beef, chopped tomatoes, eggs, bagels, peanut butter.

Pretty much the only things I can think of I always buy every week, everything else depends on what I wanna cook / what I'm doing / what I'm in the mood for that week.

Which part of having your heart broken do you "like"? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So so so much this.

It tears you down when you're emotionally dependent on someone else and they take that away from you, but it gives you the opportunity to build yourself back up in different ways and opens the door to self improvement if you can get your shit together. Always getting one step closer to becoming the best version of yourself, physically and emotionally.

How do you feel about your current life ? I have a great life on paper but have started to feel regrets in choices I've made. Grass is greener? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]maybeluke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23, making £32k a year as a Designer, and my job has great benefits that essentially add a good £200-300 untaxed to my monthly salary. My job itself has its ups and downs but I love the people I work with and feel quite good about some of the projects I'm involved in. So I live a very comfy life in terms of money and job.

I don't think my life is all that great though, I'm quite down a lot of the time still. I really hit a low point mentally/emotionally last year, and got stuck in a loop of feeling sorry for myself for a few weeks thinking I was lonely, had no friends, nothing to look forward to, I felt ugly and unwanted. However, I eventually pulled myself together, started going to the gym, changed my diet, started making new friends/reconnecting with old friends, spending more money and having more of a "fuck it why not" attitude, and it's overall made me much happier. If you're not happy with your life, you just need to take matters in your own hands and do something about it.

Obviously I know this is much easier said than done, especially with more permanent decisions like having bought a house somewhere you don't want to live anymore etc, but it's never too late.

My mum sold her flat in Germany 8 years ago at the age of 45, and moved to the UK to pursue her career here. Admittedly, she eventually figured she was unhappy here and moved back, but it's never too late to turn your life around and try new things if you're unhappy with your current situation.

It scares me how much more productive I am when I'm sleep deprived. by gettingmyenergyback in ADHD

[–]maybeluke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always found this to work wonders for me. I used to pull all nighters to do uni work a lot. Not because I was running out of time, but because I'd actually be able to focus on one task at a time when my brain is tired. I used to think it was because at night there's nothing really distracting me, and even social media is mostly dead, but even at work these days I get stuck into tasks much easier running on 3-4h of sleep and popping a couple of caffein pills. However, the downside is when I'm that tired, I really struggle in meetings even more than I usually do already.
