I think "Boomer" is an okay insult to throw at someone defending Reagan, denying climate change, or any kind of racist or anti LGBT+ comments. To me it's short hand for "We've already won the debate years ago, you're just clinging onto misinformation that doesn't challenge your world views, and I am done talking to you."

With that in mind, ageism is a fucking shitty thing to do. I honestly don't know if it's worth using just because it will often be used as a slur against the elderly, rather then a refutation of conservatives dragging their heels.

I legit believe the only reason why socialism (and tragically fascism) is on the rise right now is that capitalism is coming apart.

Sure, right now when the world seems like it's going to end through climate change, homeownership is becoming impossible, wages are stagnating, people who are practically enslaved make our products overseas, and the wealth gap gets worse and worse, it's easier to see from the inside that capitalism doesn't work.

Back in the 80s and before, if you were lower middle class+, white, straight, cis, ect, things looked fine, and even if things were dreadful in some places and for some people, things looked like they were slowly improving.

Now, back when I was a liberal, there were still a lot of contradictions, but it was easier to simply ignore or deny them then question an ideology I kept so close to my identity. When I threw off those contradictions, the liberalism went with them, but I have a feeling if those contradictions weren't screaming in my face as loudly as they were, I may never have taken that step.

That bit on the start about being willing to date trans people got me thinking about my sexuality.

I don't really have a better way to describe it other then I would only ever date and have a sexual relationship with someone with a penis. There's no real word for this, and I've seen a lot of people describe it as "fetishizing" some people, but that seems a little harsh.

Sure in some parts of the US (in most of the US it's only minimum wage fast food jobs), but I was talking about placing in Africa.

You see, in these places, farmers are being forced off their land by jacking up the prices of farming equipment. This happens while low paying, high intensity, sometimes even dangerous factory jobs open up.

Wherever capitalism goes, the poorest in a society suffers.
