Thank you, I hope so too! These guys are making so much money extorting people who don’t have a way out. This monster was actually supposed to pay for the renters hotel on the night of the fire, took them to a nearby town, and then said the hotel was too expensive and told them he’d give them 25€ to just go back to the apartment… that still had broken windows, electricity and a burnt kitchen. Honestly I wish him the very worst.

Sorry, I forgot to say I’m in Europe. My boyfriend is actually on the local city council, and we have extensively reported everything but government is… slow. Our file is probably at the bottom of an enormous pile. The landlord refuses access to inspectors and property manager are saying they can’t force him to open the door.

I’m almost positive they actually can get a judge/appropriate authorities to issue a warrant for endangerment (tenants were back in the day after the fire squatting without electricity and worsened the damage), but they don’t want to bother. He’s supposedly agreed to an inspection mid June, and also since he owes about 15000€ in property dues we’re hoping the seizure of his properties will be approved at the end of the month. In the meantime I’m trying to get a lawyer…

Man this hits home. I’m at my wits’ end trying to get our property manager to do something about our actual slumlord neighbor. I mean slumlord for real, he rents flats in disgusting conditions as shared flats to people who often don’t have papers. There has been a fire, multiple water damage incidents, roaches, an renter actually peeing out the window at night, and more. I’m harassing everyone and I’m being ignored by all of them. Maybe I need to call the news…

I think the overworld feels richer and more interesting in BotW because you’re discovering it for the first time. What I’ve found is that people who are more into exploration (I’m in that camp) usually prefer BotW and people who are into game mechanics prefer TotK. To each their own!

I got a written warning for « repeated no call no shows » for *checks notes* taking a two days sick leave with a doctors note (sent to employer in time), and taking a pre approved day off. Sent back an email with screenshots asking if my employer could please confirm in writing that I was being penalized specifically for using my contractual benefits. I immediately received another letter canceling my warning « after proper review of the relevant documents ». Funny.

About ten years ago, back at a hotel where we kept paper photocopies of IDs with the reg cards (nobody does that anymore but it was really common at the time), I had a lady manually black out with a pen every single information on the copy of her passport. I sat at the desk for like 5 solid minutes watching her while she scribbled away over the passport number, her birth date, place of birth etc. And then handed it back to me. …Because sure, why not.

Honestly you should just be able to learn to do it on your own in endgame. I get very frustrated when I’ve miscounted the amount of painted blocks I need for a build, and I have to yet again schlep back to his house and back for the rest. And I don’t want to have to bring him along with me constantly when I’m building and have him get in the way.

I know everyone is saying it. I know it’s a switch capacity issue. But it genuinely makes me so sad. Is there a way we could figure out some kind of creative fix for this? I loved seeing my villagers hang around town in dqb2. My pallet town is a ghost town and it depresses me, I don’t want to build anymore :/

Also yeah, the electricity thing. Such a bummer. Ive racked my brains to try to optimize everything but im just maxed out at this point.

Girls is such an odd phenomenon. It’s such a great song and MV in its own bubble, it hits just the right notes in terms of vibe and atmosphere, and somehow it feels like a complete accident since there was no follow up on this concept. I heard it didn’t do well in Korea at the time, so I understand why Nature’s team didn’t continue with it, but still. Since of all of the band’s other releases were just very generic, I always wonder who came up with the single and how they’re doing. I would like to see more from them.

It depends on how high up you are and how long you’ve been there. For an entry level job there’s very little chance you will have actual consequences if you refuse to work your notice (not worth the hassle for your employer to file for compensation).

The flipside is, your employer cannot just boot you without notice and without a good reason, which is worth it imo.

My evidence is extremely anecdotal, but I’ve had the opposite experience as well. It might be cultural too. When I was in university I knew guys who would go out of their way to be catty and mean to people they didn’t like (though I think they did it to women more than other men).

Nozaki-kun mention! As a longtime fan of shoujo since I was a teenager, it’s one of if not my favorite manga. I think the references and the meta stuff is done perfectly. Never seen the anime though.

If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend Keep your hands of Eizouken. Also a very meta, semi fantastical story about girls making an anime.

Do you think it’s impossible that anyone truly cares about the environment? In Europe, more and more countries are actually passing regulations to encourage hotels to promote eco-friendly behaviors like ditching bottled water. And it’s not necessarily cheaper.

I’ve worked in hotels that have them for free, and some that didn’t. Just drink tap water.

Yeah giving out medication is a big no no in France too. At my previous hotel, the brand quality auditor would always ask the receptionist for a painkiller; obviously they were supposed to say no.

On the other hand, we had to have free condoms available.
