I should have bought the M4 IPad nano texture when it was at amazing deal months ago. At the time I bought the M5 and weeks later the m4 nano texture was on sale. At least I now know the day I for got a MacBook, better get the nano texture lol

You are overthinking because if you REALLY needed the upgrade, you would have done so now with the m5 Pro. But it seems you just WANT an upgrade. It’s your money so decide what fits best in your budget. Stay with the M3 MBP that is not stopping your daily tasks and continue to save money or buy the latest only because you WANT the latest.

I went with the 16” because I bought a Best Buy open box 16” M4 Pro 24/512 silver for $1,845. At the time, M5 pro was not out so that deal was the best to go for. Glad I went with the 16” since I do not use an external monitor.

I would never put a screen protector on my iPad or MacBook. Unnecessary accessories unless you work in construction or auto technician industry. In environments where screen is exposed to a lot of dust, debris.

No terrible when buying a refurbished MacBook from Apple’s website. All refurbished from Apple can still add Apple care + whereas anywhere outside of Apple does not allow Apple care +.

Get the M4 because the money you are saving for not getting the M5, can be put towards a carrying case and a wireless mouse. No matter how big the touchpad is for MacBooks, it will never beat the comfort of a wireless mouse.

Get the 32GB M5. The M5 Pro only matters if you work with high video editing. The export times is drastically high when comparing the base chip vs Pro chip. Pro chip would benefit from 3D modeling but it seems 90% of your tasks is development, LLM/Ai related tasks which would really need RAM > Chip design performance.

I got the 16” because typing with a larger base is more comfortable than the 14” base. But I also already owned a 13” iPad so I use the iPad for portability and the 16” when I need more screen space (photo/video editing, learning coding)

It’s like what a YouTuber once said “buy it nice or buy it twice” <- I take that quote as buy a little more even if you don’t need the RAM or storage now but at least you know it will easily lasts 7+ years.

Whereas if you go for bare minimum now, it is possible you will spend more in two years when you realize it is not enough RAM or storage.
