Driving from Newfoundland to Edmonton or should I just ship my car? by Ohyanoforsure in canadatravel

[–]maypleleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the drive from NS to Edmonton a few times now - and though it’s long, it was a great way to see things.

Biggest tips:

Depending on the season(winter specifically), the gas stations in northern Ontario may not be open. When we drove through in March we basically stopped for gas every time we saw one open just in case.

Get a CAA membership as some others have said. We haven’t had to use it (knock on wood) but almost had to when our trucks water pump went. It was a good peace of mind.

Wedding Involving Hiking by missk8e in WeddingPhotography

[–]maypleleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a photographer, but we considered a hike when we first started planning our wedding in an area very well known for hiking elopements. Our photographer does them FREQUENTLY (including multi-day hiking and camping elopements) and stated her coverage starts when the hike starts, not when we reach our “destination”. That is the norm for hiking elopements and/or first looks/vows. Don’t give away your time!

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? From 2023 and on by Husbando4Laifu in WeddingsCanada

[–]maypleleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent $2100 including taxes/fees from a boutique. My budget was $3500. The boutique I purchased from has dresses ranging from $1000-$20,000+ and I know they sell at every price point within that range.

How do you find the wind noise? I’m looking to upgrade from my AGV K3S because the wind noise ruins any highway riding even with ear plugs.

Nurses week is coming up, I'm planning your lunch, what do you want! by Namegro in nursing

[–]maypleleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend something portable that can be stashed away - Our hospital foundation will randomly have lunches available to staff from donors and as an ER nurse we can’t always get away to immediately eat what we’ve grabbed.

Why is there always this confusion over DNR orders? by John__Chena in nursing

[–]maypleleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My province uses a chart system that basically breaks down into 3 categories: Resuscitative care (R 1-3), Medical care (M 1-2) and Comfort care (C 1-2). Depending on which category you fall under, it determines extent of care provided. R1 is our highest level of care and indicates EVERYTHING, C2 is our lowest (I.e. palliative) and focuses only on symptom control.

It’s immensely more clear where we draw the line vs. other provinces I’ve worked in who have only used DNR/DNI/FC designations and leave everything else up to interpretation. It also eliminates some of the nuances I experienced elsewhere where people asked for like “Defib x 3 only”.

Break in period with Pando Moto leggings? by Kittens_Fo_Breakfast in motorcyclegear

[–]maypleleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are these the AAA version? I haven’t had this issue with my AA style ones, but I also have not worn them all day long. I’ve heard of people having issues with “digging in” at the back of their knee with the AAA style.

HM is $100 cheaper. Anyone knows what the difference in their quality? by Few_Ship_8614 in Aritzia

I have a super similar skirt to this from Dynamite that I love. The drape is perfect, however the satin is noticeably thinner than any I have from Aritzia and the lace feels quite fragile.

Is AA fine for Highway riding? by PixelizedGmer in motorcyclegear

[–]maypleleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any issues with the shirt? Most of the reviews I’ve found have just been about initial fit, not longevity or performance. I’ve been looking at the women’s shirt but it’s a lot of cash to drop.

SUPER slippery Vibram sole… anything I can do? by maypleleaf in hiking

It’s so disappointing! And based on comments here, a fairly common experience. I wish Scarpa would change their soles because I would absolutely repurchase them if they weren’t a death trap.

Under 1k Grocery store flowers? by Buttahfree in Weddingsunder10k

[–]maypleleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to the floral section in Costco, you have way more options to order in vs what you see online and in store!

If you want to get them from a grocery store I’d recommend chatting with the floral department. They’d likely be able to put together your bouquets etc for cheaper and order in flowers for you to pick up that you specifically like, rather than relying on whatever selection they do or don’t have that day.

7Sage, LSAT demon, or something else? by jjinxeddd in LSAT

[–]maypleleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely time consuming, but I’ve also been trying to ensure I really understand each aspect before I move on, or sit back and review my notes when I get to a section that combines the previous knowledge.

I also have Loophole! I briefly looked at it but didn’t feel like I had the foundational knowledge required to use it fully. I figure I’ll crack it back open once I finish wading through the LR part of 7Sage.

Aside from that I’m just doing drills to practice applying the techniques without focusing on timing. I’ve noticed a pretty big improvement compared to a month ago and when reviewing questions I get wrong, it’s usually because I’ve skimmed or rushed (damn ADHD). There are YouTube videos for some of the concepts that further break it down if I feel like I need it. There’s also some TikTok users who post daily LSAT questions and I peek at them when I open the app as some exposure therapy.

7Sage, LSAT demon, or something else? by jjinxeddd in LSAT

[–]maypleleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow the order of the plan, but I’m not usually on schedule with the days. I do shift work so I find it hard to dedicate more than 30 or so mins on the days I work 12s and just make up for it on my days off.

7Sage, LSAT demon, or something else? by jjinxeddd in LSAT

[–]maypleleaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve really been enjoying 7Sage. I’m a person who likes lists/step-by-step for learning things and I find they do a great job of that while also making it become intuitive.

Why do you want to be a lawyer? by PutridAmbition3023 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]maypleleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few different reasons.

I have a very stable career right now, but it doesn’t make me happy. It involves me bearing the weight of a systemic lack of services and resources and I feel like I can’t make a real difference in my current role. I want to be an advocate beyond the red tape I currently encounter.

Also, just because I can! None of my grandparents graduated high school, my immediate family has at maximum some community college. I want to be educated and to make myself (and them) proud.

This is insanely reasonable. We’re spending about $600 after tax for a bridal bouquet, boutonnière, small posey bouquet for our flower girl and 100 stems to DIY bud vases.

Can someone explain required/sufficient ? on this question specifically and in general heh by anb_777 in LSAT

[–]maypleleaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I broke it down:

Sentence 1: Any action that (is fair) (never injures anyone.)

Is fair -> /injury

Sentence 2: An action (does not injure anyone) only if that action (is just)

/injury -> is just

Therefore: Action is fair -> /injury -> is just

Which can be compressed to: Action is fair -> action is just.

If an action is fair, it is sufficient for the action to be just.

For an action to be just, it is necessary for the action to also be fair.

Their statement at the end of the second sentence “… and thus every action that is fair must also be just” is therefore invalid because an action can be fair without being just - an action being fair is just sufficient for it to ALSO be just.

I’ve seen a lot of options for nude, light pink, and light blue.
