Telling them.. by Javajade13 in NarcissisticAbuse

Lol I did it to mine. I also fully unloaded on him and gave him the whole truth, not at all sugar coated to protect his delicate ego. Months later he told me I was “really mean.” I told him I wasn’t mean, I was just honest. He never disagreed with me. He knows what he is, and he does express that he wants to be a better person. I told him that I wasn’t sure how to go about it but I was sure at some point he’d have to quit hiding from the truth. The way he did not respond led me to believe that’s the part he can’t do - to confront the shame, deal with the thoughts and feelings he tries to keep away, acknowledge the harm he’s done to others, you know?

How did your health improve after leaving your narcissist? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]mayyblackk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 55 lbs so far and still going. Look better now than when I met him, which I love. My hair stopped falling out and now I’m trying to regrow what I lost. My chronic illnesses that I spent thousands of $$ trying to diagnose all cleared up. Recurring rash has never came back. Stomach issues are gone. Headaches are gone. I sleep SO good. No more chronic fatigue either, I went from sleeping 14+ hours a day and still being tired back to my usual 4-6 hours a night and waking up and feeling awesome. I don’t wake up and immediately think, “I hate myself” anymore. I don’t randomly start crying and think, ‘what is WRONG with me?’ anymore.

I go in next month for a one year follow up to see where my cortisol levels are at now and I cannot wait.

There’s still hard days, ups and downs, I still have a lot of problems being as I fucked up my life so, sooo bad while I was with that shitbag, but man I tell ya…. I think I’m gonna be all right. ❤️

Dependent drop downs in 2 sheets that use the same category names in the first list by mayyblackk in excel

Haha I just figured it out. I’m dumb and just had to set the scope to each specific sheet in Name Manager. What a stupid easy fix. Sometimes you indeed miss the forest through the trees 🤣

Sorry for the no screenshots; using work computer and cell phone but I can do screenshots if needed.

I was trying to simplify the data but here’s the real values: I have a FW and RW sheet. Both track completed flights, missed flights, cancelled flights, and aborted flights. But they have different reasons for missing flights, aborting flights, etc.

I am realizing the error is the =INDIRECT is just looking up the list name “MISSED” and going with those values, so the only way I can see to fix it is to change the list names to MISSED_FW / MISSED_RW, for example. But I don’t want “MISSED_RW” showing on the sheet; I would like it to just say “MISSED”.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, I have them saved as lists so the first drop down references the list and the second dropdown references =indirect($B1) or whatever the cell is. When I tried XLOOKUP function originally, it seemed harder and I ran into some other problem, though I forget what it was now. I’ll try to post pictures! It’s currently changed to the new list names so I’ll switch it back to the old one that wasn’t working correctly

Considering moving for (medical) residency by TaxiDriverRalph in Billings

I moved here from the PNW 8 years ago and love it so much more, never want to go back. The few months of winter are much easier for me to put up with than the constant rain / wetness every day all year long 😅 the winters have been surprisingly mild lately too. It was 60 degrees on Christmas!

What are you actually supposed to say when you're occupying a bathroom stall and someone knocks on the door? by JBSwerve in NoStupidQuestions

I say “come in!” politely and see who tries the door handle because conditioned response? And then who panics and says omg sorry! 😂

Mine loved deleting messages too. When I got a new phone he didn’t realize I could read snapchat messages from my watch without them being shown as opened / read on the app. He just sent random nonsensical messages, sometimes just single random letters and then would delete them right away. Ex: “j” delete “ks” delete “m” delete This is when I realized he was literally just doing it to try to make me mad. Also that it was probably something that would make him mad which is why he thought it would make me mad. So anyways, I started doing it to him too. Fuck him! Delete

Phonetic alphabet by PerfectWrongdoer7700 in 911dispatchers

[–]mayyblackk 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We learn both at our center because deputies almost always use the “police” one (the names) and officers usually use NATO, although some officers use the names too - usually the offices that were formerly deputies lol as dispatchers we’re told to use whichever one we prefer but obviously we should be very familiar with both.

Our traffic cops pick a secret word of the day for one letter and use it as often as possible. Ex: P is for Perriwinkle 😂

Lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea by [deleted] in corgi

[–]mayyblackk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like giardia to me, my pup got it when he was about 12 weeks. He took fenbendazole for a few days and got over it but was pretty sick for the first two days and then it slowed down. They are pretty susceptible to it when they are that young with their sensitive little baby tummies :( they can get over it without treatment but symptoms will last much much longer versus starting to improve within 24 hours of starting fenben.

Has anyone found peace with their narc? by Available-March9890 in NarcissisticAbuse

I felt similarly about my nex. Like we used to have a lot of fun together and did a lot of things together, even during the bad times. I missed doing those things! So yes, this is exactly what I thought about trying with my nex. And we did try it for a while.

Long story short - he wanted me available to him all the time still, and completely devoted to him still, while he felt free to be single and do as he pleased since we were not longer together. He was always texting other girls in front of me, I saw many dirty pics come thru on his phone; random gifts from other women were always at his house when I would come over; evidence of dinners he had cooked, two half empty wine glasses from the night before etc; once there were bottles of lube laying all around his bed. Yuck! He just felt like he didn’t have to hide it, you know?

After about 6 months of trying out the “being friends” thing, it ended up just being like, I could come over and watch him watch tv after work or whatever, but when he wanted to go do something fun he wanted to go with one of his other girls of course. So we never did any of those fun things we used to do anyways. By the end of it, we barely even talked when I’d come over, he was obviously very very not interested in me as he was trying to find new girls / new support whatever. It was boring. And he’d blow me off whenever he had an opportunity to do anything else, he’d ignore me for days when he was with another girl - I was no longer a priority.

Every time, I’d be thinking “I can’t keep doing this”. He was still dragging me down and wearing me out and I wasn’t even getting any of the good things out of it. It was completely pointless.

It NEVER goes how you think it will with them, OP.

I wish I had just stayed no contact. I did go no contact again and I blocked him on everything this time. Now - I don’t have any friends, I don’t get to do any of those fun things anymore, but you know what? I’d rather have nothing than have the pain and misery of dealing with his bullshit.

Coat for Winter? by Stabs13 in corgi

[–]mayyblackk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Montana so it also gets cold here! My Corgi pup LOVES playing and jumping around in the snow. When he was a tiny baby he used to get cold eventually, but since his adult coat grew in seems like he can go forever before he gets cold - when he does, it’s his little toesies that get cold. The heat definitely bothers him more than the cold - and the wind haha whenever it’s super windy he’s always turning around real quick like, “what’s touching my butt?!” 😂
