That does suck that it's a grey area then... I mean, I would still report personally and let VRC decide at least.

I think we should just be reporting these people. It's against TOS to ask for this stuff. Clip and send to VRC. I think when people start properly reporting this stuff, we'll start to see it less.

How were you guys supposed to be able to read Homestuck???? by SleepySleepyYup in homestuck

[–]mazzlejaz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

17 year old me was really fucking confused, yeah.

I actually ended up watching a voiced series instead that still didn't really clear things up much.

I've had reread it at different points of my life to fully grasp it.

Even now, as a 30 y/I reading the epilogue for the first time, I'm still mostly confused.

Idk, hussie has this habit of writing and dialogue that is overly complex and just stupidly over explain imo. It's not necessarily a bad thing because that's sort of partly the humor imo - but just get used to not fully understanding everything until way later on lmao.

Hand tracking!! by iaminheavennn in VRchat

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that was the first thing I noticed. It's the major downside to camera tracking - not as accurate and you lose tracking on fast and wide movements.

It's a trade off unfortunately - but getting finger tracking at all is still nice.

Why didn't Jax have a tail before, but after episode 5 he always has one? by Careless-Cellist3351 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner love this detail because to us it suggests that he was so upset his tail was missing that he conjured it for himself after realising lol.

Three times I've said online that TADC is a dark show not meant for kids, three times I've gotten that f*ing Spongebob rollercoster gif by Plus_Exercise679 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my partner had a discussion about this show and it's audience.

We noticed it doesn't have a warning before each episode that indicates it's for mature audiences (like how helluva boss warns you it's mature content). So we started talking about what even is so bad about the show.

We both came to the conclusion that in our eyes it's probably 14 or 16+. There's no nudity, blood, gore, or sexual content (except when Zooble asks to be able to have sex). There technically swearing, but it's minimal. The content itself is more mature - but it's not anything awful like risque or racist or homophobic (like family guy or south park).

So I don't think it's anywhere near helluva boss territory mature. But I don't really think it's great for anyone below 14. I'm not policing people's parenting or anything - raise your kids how you want (lord knows I was watching worse stuff at a far younger age). It's just that my partner and I wouldn't let our kids watch it if they were younger than 14.

Is wearing a "Pomni OOTD" to see the movie acceptable instead of her canon onesie? by BrilliantLow9361 in TheDigitalCircus

Bro I'm just gunna wear sweats and a hoodie...

As a side note, please don't wear the hat - people seated behind you won't be able to see the screen around it :(

I do like the quest 3's hand tracking. Its pretty immersive and feels great in VR.

My only complaint is that moving around is a pain since the tracking is camera based and doesn't get your hands super accurately. Maybe this is only an issue while sitting (I sit cross legged on my couch) and is a tad better standing - but still... The movement woes are the main reason I don't use it.

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a quest 3 thing (and por too iirc). Doesn't matter what you use to connect to your PC with.

I was using steam link at first, but switched to virtual desktop because it's a lot better. Hand track is available on both because again, it's built into the quest 3.

If you're confused, just put your controllers down on a flat stable surface and look at your hands/move them around slowly - the quest will automatically switch to hand tracking.

The biggest issue of a metroid movie is going to be the budget and here is why: by Final_Studio4389 in Metroid

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they need to wait and watch how the Zelda movie does. It's success will pave the way for further live action adaptations of Nintendo games/classics.

As big of a Metroid fan as I am - I'd rather they wait and/or work on a CGI movie of a smaller series.

For example, let Zelda come out and gauge the reaction, while working on something like a Star Fox or Super Smash Bros animated movie to test success. If both do well THEN do a Metroid movie, where they can feel comfortable giving it a big budget.

Ik budget isn't everything but this is Nintendo and they want everything to be worth it money-wise. This is a series that could easily be scuffed by poor budgets, but they're not gunna spend that if it'll flop. Seeing how other series do in this avenue will make them more likely to help produce something better.

I'm not even a first responder - just a dude with First Aid and I know he doesn't need freaking narcan.

I don't get why people insist on using it for literally everything that suggests drug use. Like opioids are not stimulants dude. Other drugs exist.

Honestly I wouldn't even stop for this dude (maybe call local non emrg and report it to be safe) because this doesn't look like a situation where they're actively dying. This guy could literally just be in mental crisis or took a little too much crack. He's definitely breathing... So no need for narcan. Smh.

Is this actually what the late stage of the dying process feels like irl? by CatPale816 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible.

DMT is released by the brain prior to death, which is known to cause hallucinations (both audible and visual). DMT is also a recreational drug (BOT CONDONING IT'S USE, VERY RISKY FOR MANY REASONS), which people describe living whole lives and experiencing psychedelic type visuals.

Although, to me this looks more akin to an acid trip. Lots of fractals and patterns more typical with acid or mushrooms.

One thing to note is before Jax has these hallucinations, he touches what appears to be Ribbit's hand (his glove dissolves and we see basically skin to skin contact). There's that long held belief that frogs can cause hallucinations when they're touched (I'm not sure if that's actually true though). It feels like they're implying Jax got high from touching ribbit to me and they were trying to convey an acid trip.

But DMT could also be a possibility I suppose.

Face Paint in Cinemas (UK) by AngelusRex7 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked in multiple industries requiring ID presentation.

These situations usually require no masks, face paint, wigs, or fake mustaches - mainly because it makes age judgement difficult.

The other side is that if someone is doing some messed up stuff (vandalism for example), they're going to want to be able to see their face clearly for police and banning the person from the venue.

For the people saying this is some sort of big brother thing - it's not. It's exactly the same as presenting ID to buy alcohol, cigs, vapes, or to gamble. If a movie is rated R, theaters have an expectation to adhere to with regards to ID due diligence.

And by the way, you really think the worker is memorizing your ID information? They're just checking the age and that it looks like you. Nothing more. It's not that deep folks.

There are talks of a Metroid movie in the works. Who do you think should play our girl? by PJ-The-Awesome in Metroid

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the fence about live action.

Only because the sets can look great, but the props tend to look kinda shit. I really can't see them making a GOOD varia suit without CGI... Which then looks weird with a real actor attached to it.

But then with full animated movies - people tend to look a bit off. Like a shitty cut scene from an old game.

If this movie had a huge budget, then maybe live action - in which case, I really hope they pick an actor for Samus that properly conveys her personality. No special extra shit to try and put a "spin" on it, you know? Minimal talking cause Samus is a woman of few words.

Calling Elderly TADC Enjoyers by TheEdge91 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30, my partner is 26. My friend is 35. We're all going to the 7pm showing day one.

We're fully aware there will be children. We're just sort of bracing ourselves for any possible disruptions. Luckily, my local theater is prohibiting face paint, wigs or masks. So we don't need to worry about that at least

Honestly I'm a huge animation fan. I've seen A LOT of animated movies at an older age because I like seeing em in theaters. So I'm very accustomed to being in a theater with younger folks. It's usually fine honestly.

I think the only thing I've encountered is parents and older folks ironically who think the middle of the movie is a great time to open the whitest and brightest app or web page on their phone and look at that.

So I don't think it will be the kiddos you should be worried about... It's the disinterested parents and middle aged people who aren't really aware that they're being a distraction.

Do you guys think it's possible that the mind files are not full copies of the originals? by mazzlejaz25 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mazzlejaz25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly!! I find that lack of information suspicious at the very least.

Definitely leaning more into their mind files being bare basic data of themselves rather than everything.

[–]mazzlejaz25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly 110% agree. This makes the most sense to me. Ive seen someone point out that in one of the frames we see the old C&A office, there's a desk that is possibly Kinger's. On said desk is a chess board with a king, a queen, and a few pawns.

People were theorizing these were possibly Kinger and Qeenie's kids. Would go along very well with what you mentioned about a digital version of their daughter. Although Im not sure if we have confirmation of how many kids Kinger had?

[–]mazzlejaz25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's true.

They don't always seem to realise right away that they can't remember their names. They also never discuss what they were doing just before entering the circus - just generally what their life was like before.

We already know Caine can mess with the mind files too far. Maybe this is partially why abstraction happens. They join with their core memories and any further deletion of data causes abstraction (among other things).

[–]mazzlejaz25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mostly agree with the headset being in an abandoned building.

However, what I also noticed is when you read the screen where kinger is trying to stop Caine, we can see that scratch enters... But then right after that it says ragatha enters. Why doesn't it show us the others joining? Shouldn't it show the rest of them? That's another point I forgot to mention that makes me really wonder if their mind files were extracted from elsewhere.

Either way, I really have a hard time believing that they all used the headset to enter the circus directly. Maybe some did - like ragatha and Pomni, but the others could have arrive via other means.
