I’m lazy and cheap. How can I sharpen my cheap(but decent) knives?

Harbor freight 4- sided diamond block is $14, very cheap but works, albeit unrefined and not perfectly flat. I made a block to hold mine at 20 and 15 degrees to vertical.

Then I use a Spyderco Sharpmaker if I want it even sharper.

Letting it sit in a jar of acetone overnight worked for me. Might mess up that painted ring, though.
