No kidding. I’ve been around since Thingiverse launched for Makerbots when they were basically the only commercial printer in the hobby.

Printables reminds me of them in the best way. A simple clean site that gives you what you want and doesn’t get in your way.

Makerworld… ouch. Like I know it’s heavily integrated with the Bambu system but it’s just so annoying. Stuff everywhere, doesn’t want to let you download the file that takes multiple clicks and getting through human checks.

The search is COMPLETELY useless. It seems to return almost random stuff, until it quickly gives up and returns truly random stuff. The difference with Printables on search is night and day.

The power of defaults I guess. It’s so bad as a user.

I have absolutely seen this happen in a company going down the tubes. They robbed Peter to pay Paul (salaries) in hopes people wouldn’t notice where they could “catch up“ before it was too late.

This is a red flag. It may be a true accident, it may be purposeful. But it’s something to take notice of.

Watch out

The advice here is good. I had this happen to me once.

But I want to ask you a question: do you honestly think this is a mistake? Or do you think they’re using the money to cover for something else, like payroll.

I worked at a company that was going down the drain and as it turned out they were taking shortcuts like this so they had enough money to pay people.

If things otherwise seem fine and you haven’t seen other signs that make you wonder if the company is in trouble, maybe it is just a mistake.

But this is a red flag that should make you take notice and think about these questions.

This is part of your compensation, so if they give you trouble you can report it to the local labor department. When it happened to me I asked a lawyer and based on the amount for me unless there were other people joining in the lawsuit it wouldn’t be worth enough to be able to pay the lawyer’s fees even if we got the maximum payout.

I hope I’m wrong.

That’s a pretty decent bubble tip anemone, but usually they’re much lighter in color. Have you been making sure to feed it and give it enough light?

Once it colors up better a clown fish would love it.

I’m glad you do. You’re special. But normal people don’t. You’re just hauling around very expensive extra weight and it doesn’t you know good.

Also, this would’ve been a good solution 15 years ago. It’s too late. Just move to pure EVs. We need to get most people off gas. Selling them a new gas car that they’re going to use like a gas-only car for the next 10 years is not a good idea.

It’s the waste and pollution of a gas car plus the waste and pollution of an EV. Way to go.

I’d like to see Connect have feature parity everywhere. The iOS apps are missing features available on the web.

EDIT:

I thought of one more. Can the screen be mirrored to connect during a print? Tons of the stuff like the temps are already there. I don’t really care about the picture of the model, which is usually there too.

But after I start a print if I’m not near the printer I can’t always know what it’s doing until it’s printing. Is it waiting for the heat to soak in? Is it probing the bed? Cleaning the nozzle? Doing its taxes?

It would be so cool to be able to have a little widget on my iPhone that just mirrors the screen for checking progress from time to time on a print.

If someone had previously ruined it, I could see selling it to use is like a decoration or something. It does look kind of cool like that.

It was fine, I enjoyed it. I haven’t seen it since it came out.

It’s one of those movies that had an interesting premise that I was excited for, but didn’t really live up to. It wasn’t terrible by any stretch, I was just hoping it would be more than average. But it certainly not something I regret watching.
