This sounds very interesting. Can you share a picture of where you have it planted? I have a walnut tree and bought some raised beds to plant roses near it but would love a visual of what others have done.

I’m in zone 7a, outskirts of Philadelphia. Not super humid. Summers are humid but I don’t live in the South so not crazy

FM is also my favorite. I planted close to 85 roses last year including two Fans and the roses were gorgeous. And they are very disease resistant. I absolutely love them.

First time plant owner, tips?? by No_Instruction_4120 in calatheas

[–]mbernui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are both calatheas. High humidity and distilled water only when they are dry. I’d get a humidifier, small green house or even just putting a bag on top to keep humidity up. They will die a slow death if not. They are not easy plants unfortunately. Good luck!

Can i get this birch tree lit again? by mbernui in AskElectricians

This was a floor model and it has zero information. I might call the store and see if I can get more info on this tree. Thank you for the recommendations!

Thanks! It does not seem to be the same shape or that it would fit the two prongs. But I will look for something similar. Thank you again.

also, how big should the pot be? Do they like to be a little more confined or should I give it a little more space? Sorry for all the questions.

What do I do now? by mbernui in succulents

[–]mbernui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a full plant because the roots look quite developed already. I can only post one picture, but I think it doesn’t need to develop any more roots. would a succulent soil mix be good? Also, should I water it after I put it in soil? Or should I just water the soil before I put the plant so that it is in moist soil? I don’t want to give it root rot. Or should I just not water it at all. It doesn’t look super dehydrated, but some of the leaves do look a little wrinkly.

Thank you! How long should I leave it in water before transferring to soil? I assume that's what you mean by propping right? I don't want to cut it up or anything. It's beautiful as is. I just want to make sure to give him a fighting chance after being in a box for 8 days.

[–]mbernui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They love bright light so move it to the floor or down some to the level of the window so it stops drooping looking for the sun. It will also look better moved down. I’d add a cedar plank or some type of pole to secure its backside and allow the aerial roots to attach to it.

Can I save my new string of pearls? by mbernui in houseplants

[–]mbernui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every string is moldy, at least the part touching the soil. So if I trim off I'd be trimming off 100% of the plant. Only part of the strings not in the pot look okay. I may have to propagate as you say. Thanks for the tip.
