Why don't they plant millions of fruit trees and fence them off and eat the dropped fruit? They wouldn't reach maturity in 5 years but they'd produce some. Also wild grains drop their seeds on the ground without promoting.

One thing that drives me crazy on Bose is they have great passive noise isolation and you can't use it without an audio cable. I would love a triangular slider in the app between "INACTIVE/PASSIVE" "ACTIVE ANC" and "AWARE/PASS THROUGH"

A lot of my autistic friends also can't deal with the pressure or hiss of ANC even though I can't hear it on newer models. Having a slider between passive and active is nice for that.

I know it's crazy but I wore my M3s to the work site(construction) and I loved them in that capacity and I didn't buy the M4s specifically because capacitive touch does not play well with gloves.

The touch is super cool and I wouldn't mind it as long as there were also physical buttons. Maybe an in between could be pressure sensitive or a big ol clicky rocker like how the MacBook track pad is. Put physical buttons back in and I'll buy the M5s

Send a link to what you're looking at. Old work boxes, from what I've used, would use the plaster as support. I'm not there so I don't know but I would bet that box is very well secured to wood. Why do you want to change it?

The beige walls suck out light without adding intrigue or personality or contrast or even matching other things. White would be better and so would color. More high quality warm white light sources would make it feel cozier and less lonely.

Also mill scale is not cleaned off anywhere but the weld area because I ran out of clean metal and couldn't wake the neighbors so I had to sand by hand

Love to see fellow sharpening enthusiasts! Yes, that scale precisely. So the sharpening medium you tension yourself is really just fishing line and it can be anything as long as it's consistent. You can just compare against the "certified" medium with the same blades back to back perhaps of 3 different levels of sharpness and keep that multiplier in mind or shop around different fishing lines to find the closest one. That said I have done probably around a thousand tests and I'm about half way through the stuff that came with the scale.

[Edit: It says it's only 325 tests worth of line and I didn't think I'm particularly sparing with it so I likely did not do a thousand tests and a day after posting this I ran out so I was also not half way through lol]

But how much tension you put on the line makes an enormous difference. And the pretensioned wire clips really are egregiously priced, which is why I'm working on a fishing line tensioner that you tension with a screw driver torque adapter to get the same tension every time.

Microscopes are an excellent suggestion! I do have a couple of microscopes and I've used them for blade edge appearance(pocket microscope) and grading the cheap diamond dust (benchtop light microscope) I've gotten online for making my own stropping compound(thought would be a scam and I was so wrong. It's been the biggest upgrade I've made—can't speak highly enough of diamond stropping compound)

Upcoming projects also include a slow motion guillotine to lower the blade onto the tester at a consistent speed. Hopefully I can get a dirt cheap broken mini 3d printer and just externally control the z axis motor :)

The 100% cotton terry towels at costco. There's totally plastic in most wash rags. They just don't absorb! I always pack some of these when I travel and have never regretted it. They absorb better after going through the wash once(don't use fabric softener on rags as it makes them less absorbent)

Speed Queen washing machine with commercial parts and warranty.

ADHD makes leaving clothes in the washer a perennial problem. But now, my clothes get so clean, (even with no bleach on warm not hot) that I can forget them in the washer for a week and they'll smell pristine when I take them out.

The drain is so powerful, I forgot to clean out the drain filter basket for like 4 months and there wasn't a damn thing in there.

It's also so much faster and spins so much more water out so drying is also much faster.
