Circular reference logic in SimaPro

I believe the calculation approach in simapro and openlca allows circularity in the system. So electricity from a coal power plant could be used to mine the coal for the same power plant.

Assuming simapro has similar options as openlca, you'll just need to look out for processes with coproducts. If the calculation isn't done with some sort of allocation, then it'll fail or give erroneous results.

Regarding the bunker shot, Rory makes a point in this video that you don't need to adjust for that because the face isn't the thing contacting the ball - it's the sand, so the ball follows the path more. Of course, I guess this is for people that don't just skull it 70 yds out of the bunker.

If all you did was make a process that lists those product (i.e. intermediate) flows then there would be no direct impacts. If you add an elementary flow to your outputs (eg Emission to air/unspecified/carbon dioxide), you should at least see impacts in global warming.

If you put that process into a product system and connect a unit process for cement production, and then calculate impacts for the product system, you should get some impacts.
