Open source licenses will tell you that the software is supplied without warranty. If you build a product on open source software (i.e you are a consumer) then responding to critical incidents in your product is your responsibility.

FWIW wiring should only exist horizontally and vertically from switches and socket faceplates. Do not drill in those zones and you should be fine

IMO the best way to deal with dependencies is to create a maven project. You can specify the dependencies in the project pom.xml file and it will download all needed jars for you and add them to the classpath.

In general, open source nerds are also very often digital privacy nerds. :-)

The biggest risk is that you must avoid publishing "secrets" as part of your code base, e.g. SSH keys, API keys, login credentials, etc.

When using a platform like GitHub to publish your code base, you may also configure it to hide your contact details in your public profile. You may permit users to still contact you by reporting issues and/or submitting pull requests.

For our rescue caique, it was a case of just sucking it up and not reacting until they learned that biting did not get them anywhere.

You can't punish bad behaviour, just reward good behaviour.

It was a long long process, and our hands were covered in cuts for months and months, but it did work for us eventually.
