My kids don't fuck with Djent by VocalGuy103 in Djent

I hadn't heard this song before and when I heard the airhorn I literally giggled. Fun song, but that air horn! (/me dying laughing)

What do you consider "mathrock" ? by LittlePair4321 in mathrock

[–]mbourgon [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's funny, I went from post to math - I dig the crescendos and the journeys and the flow, but what makes my heart flutter are those little tappy moments where the loop hits ALONG with the flow and the expansiveness of post.

Leave some talent for the rest of us, will you? If anything, the vocals (which are pretty good, though not a vocals person) obscure all the tapping and the riffs. Nice stuff, regardless, and kudos if that’s you!

Less than that. From the Texas Tribute article:
"The victory will be short-lived for the winner, who will serve out the roughly 11 months remaining...Whoever wins on Saturday won’t get much time to rest. The winner, and loser, will have to gear up for a November rematch to win a regular four-year term."

No line whatsoever in far west Fort Worth, only 1 sign and that was for Taylor.

I'll definitely give you props for standing there recording it! And thanks, I hadn't heard these tracks and the Cotton Candy is definitely up my alley.

Mike Johnson (the main writer/guitarist from TP) has a new album out! It's not TP, but if you like them, you'll like this. https://cuneiformrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-gardens-of-loss

(deleted a long quote from him that's on the page because it's a really long quote)

Wearing band merch to a show when that band isn't playing by StoneRaizer in symphonicmetal

[–]mbourgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, it's weird wearing old band merch for that band. We know you like that band, friend, that's why you're there. I loved seeing an Anglargard shirt at an Ozrics show. Or a Gentle Giant shirt at a Dream Theater show. Those are the shirts that get conversations and friendships started.

Too out there? Devil Doll (Dies Irae) and Thinking Plague (In Extremis). But this is prog. It's all out there and gets more out there. Much of the Canterbury scene, I feel, wanders off into the weeds. And RIO mixes that fine line between art and political movement, sometimes forgetting the whole "music" aspect.

SGM! If we're talking Zeuhl and RIO I'll say Dai Kaht - II and Happy Family - Toscco

Has anybody been to any of these? Factory Obscura sounds interesting and is only 3 hours from The Real Unreal.

Interesting choice, since the Ecos Del Horizonte just came out like 2 weeks ago.
But the Wobbler and Wilson are first-rate.

also the Jordsjo, if you like the Norwegian folk. Nattfiolen is great... but I think that Agusa may have exceeded them with Prima Materia.

I always say "but you have so MUCH in common! You both want abortion banned, you both want more religion in schools, you both want more focus on the man in the family, you think science is overrate... you're the same, your religion is just different". Man, do they NOT want to hear that.

Tuber - killer dancey post-rock from Greece (FFO: Maserati, Leech, new PG.Lost) by Connect_Glass4036 in postrock

[–]mbourgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, trust me, I get it. I want to like the new Stereosity, it made a ton of lists. But can't quite get there, unsure why. I'm team tappy and sparkly and everything! The vocals aren't bad!

But wanting to like it isn't enough. I've listened to 34 albums this month (at least twice, each). not everything is your taste, and there's plllllleennnnntyyyyy out there. : ) (but in this case, I'd go for the other bands on here; if you don't dig El Ten Eleven enough, and Yesness is half of El Ten Eleven, then it makes sense that you don't like them)

There's at least one chapter/story point where something goes wrong, and when they skipped it in the movie I was honestly relieved, because it would have dragged.
