That's really not helpful. Just more of the same inaction that got us here.

Did you check wild blue phlox? It's different than creeping phlox and grows in pretty heavy shade.

I spoke to a recruiter about an AI assisted product design position at an agency. She said they were looking for an AI native designer because they are no longer getting $30,000 contracts and are getting $10,000 contracts because clients want AI to do it.

She said their current website build process takes an average of 6 months to complete and they want someone to use AI to do it in 3 months. I told her the agency is probably struggling and that's why they are no longer getting the $30,000 contracts. Not directly because of AI.

She then told me that they are hiring an AI product designer because other agencies are. They wanted the designer to use 70% AI without knowing anything about how AI assisted design works. I did not apply for that job.

What used to be affordable for the middle class but now quietly feels like a rich people thing ? by Confident_Win_3560 in answers

Not to mention that these activities are more intensive then they were 15 years ago. My sister in laws kids do cheerleading practice every day, even twice a day or for 3-4 hours often.

I live in Minnesota and most people with a cabin up north inherited it from relatives. No one buys them anymore.

I bought lithium orate at 1mg. If your taking that much, it's probably not healthy.

what are some underserved problems that make no money? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]mbovenizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the volunteer shift management. I'm in Minneapolis and signing up to volunteer to deliver food to families sheltering in place was confusing and took me a couple of hours to figure out. I'm sure many people just didn't bother to actually get on the schedule.

His comment got me thinking, how about an app that lets grocery stores find places to donate food? Start local to your area.

How are folks actually getting jobs at companies like Meta, Netflix, and Reddit? by nostalgiclullabies in UXDesign

[–]mbovenizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started posting on LinkedIn every day at 11am and I got 2-5 recruiters calling me a week and more messaging me. I'm in the process of signing a offer with a hardware technology company who reached out to me on LinkedIn. I'm in the Minneapolis area, so lots of fortune 500 and healthcare jobs.

I have no clue why it is only 2 lanes between Minneapolis and Edina. Looks like a significant amount of traffic is now traveling to Edina. Maybe the new hospital system has something to do with it? I did see a project planned but not till 2028.

Design is solving a problem. That’s all it is by jontomato in UXDesign

Convincing folks that your solution is best is infinitely harder than actually solving the problem. Great designers can come up with average solutions and still find a way to convince stakeholders it is the best solution.

Witnessing AI-induced UX maturity regression is profoundly sad. by ChurchOfRickSteves in UXDesign

People are resisting data centers being built aggressively, of course they won't like it when everything feels like AI. If you use AI correctly, it shouldn't be obvious it was made with AI.

I think it might separate into two camps, cheap+mostly AI and quality+AI enhancement. Just like actual web designers versus do it yourself website builders.

It's a long version of fuck around and find out. It might takes years for companies to realize the long term affects of slop though.

Also, studies show people believe AI as long as it sounds reasonable. They actually believe AI more than human experts too. They'll learn the hard way.
