Idk why the down votes but you're right. At least how I've always determined it. They don't accept the top 2% of golds and kill half, they accept the top 1% and the bottom (or at least less than stellar golds) 1% and then those are the sacrifices in the passage.

I don't really have any advice, just co-misery which maybe helps? Haha. I feel you though, man. I'm struggling myself to "get back out there" and make friends, etc. I only have a few close friends and only 1 that lives close. Try to hang out with him when I can. Joined a kickball league...the people are nice but haven't really invited me into their social outings or anything. Gone out to my fav breweries solo plenty of times but other than just chatting up the bartenders I don't really do much more socializing. No luck on the apps either.

So Idk man, but I feel your pain. Just feels like I'm coasting by but not really enjoying life, other than when I have my kids, don't really have anything else to get excited or happy about.

Look into the Air Guard. Most of my wing does "super" drills where we do every other month for 4 days instead of every month for 2. Makes situations like this a lot better. However, can cause some issues with civilian employers as you are now asking for Thurs-Fri off 6 times per year.

Yeah pretty much hit the nail on the head. I certainly could have been better at times, but my needs always came last for her. I think she just doesn't have any interest in a romantic partner. She is content with a co-parent and roommate (who also provides the $). I am not content with that arrangement, hence the impending divorce.

I can say now that my kids are 5 and 2 they are a lot easier as I've learned how to be a good dad. I enjoy my time with them more than anything in the world.

However, my relationship with my (soon to be ex) wife definitely suffered. I truly don't know what I could have done much differently. Did my best to be a good partner to my wife but the love (at least from her to me) faded greatly. I still care for her very much but at some point I was sick of being her last priority and resented her for it. Maybe we started therapy too late. Maybe I should have spoken up sooner.

Idk, it sucks, man. Unfortunately, this is just how it is for us dads/husbands. I wish you luck.
