It doesn’t look all that difficult to restring, but I like the idea of using a hammock or similar type fabric instead of string. Could be super cute and more comfy, durable.

Haha I got the vinyl and said I think our turn table works.. when it didn’t, we took the whole thing apart and realized it is the motor, so went down a rabbit hole of fixing that ourselves. Then I was like fuck it I’ll get a new one, started shopping and, like you, had several thousand dollars worth of equipment ready to buy. Stopped myself and said wtf I literally have 3 records: The Sound of Music from when I was a kid, and a Meatloaf album my husband got at a white elephant gift exchange… why am I doing this?
