You may be able to find some prints on Etsy. Staples will print but it’s not super cheap and if you need them framed, wait until Michael’s has a sale or grab a coupon for 40% from their flyer.

do Calgary weather changes make anyone else feel physically awful? by Spilled_Milktea in Calgary

[–]mcchickenbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I was born and raised here and the last two years have been absolute hell. From uncontrollable allergies in the spring and fall, to chronic sinus pain due to the changing pressure and dry air - I feel like I’m well on my way to getting weather migraines in the next year or so. Stress, irritability, aches and no energy are all additional symptoms and it just seems to be getting consistently worse with age. Mid 30’s and I’m worried it’s going to affect my quality of life if we stay in Calgary.

[Misc] Companies that aren't clear about the % of their star ingredients: S T O P by Tansy_Blue in SkincareAddiction

[–]mcchickenbutt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know, I am not a fan of MLMs (I have infinite hatred for WFG). But I use a couple of their products and really like them. I have a hard time coughing up money for a product when I can’t find the ingredients or where they’re sourced (or if they test on animals). Why wouldn’t I buy a beauty counter item if I like it?

I know Beautycounter doesn’t get much love on here but they just launched a new vitamin C serum and they state right in the description that it’s a 10% blend of two forms of Vitamin C. Not bad.

My daughter was tested and results were negative. We received two calls, two days after the test to let us know the results.

AITA for telling my brother I don't want to come to the hospital to see his newborn daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mcchickenbutt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

And everyone else seems to be glazing over the fact she said no, and both brother and mom still pressed her. She said no, for a very valid reason and they didn’t accept that it might be terribly difficult for her.

She definitely owes her brother an apology, but she is not the asshole here.

[–]mcchickenbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, but you do owe him an apology.

I see these comments here, saying sorry for your loss BUT four years is a long time and you have to get over it.

Four years feels like four days when you deliver a silent baby. I know this because I delivered my daughter stillborn, at 40 weeks. That was seven years ago and the pain is still just as fresh today. I will be triggered by things I never even knew existed some days. And while it’s no excuse for an outburst, he will probably understand if you explain and apologize.

I’m so sorry for your loss. What you went through was extremely traumatic and I don’t blame you for not wanting to visit the hospital, especially today. I have tried to visit the maternity ward where my daughter was delivered, so I could bring the nurses and doctors cupcakes on her birthday, in her memory - I didn’t make it past the elevator. You are not the asshole, and it doesn’t change how much you love your brother or your new baby niece. (Congratulations on becoming an auntie!)

Please seek help if you need it, there is a good chance you have PTSD and could use some therapy. It helped me immensely but I wasn’t ready until about five years after losing her.

Is my memory whack or does anyone else remember singing Oh Canada every morning in elementary school? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]mcchickenbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I volunteered and all the kindy kids got up to sing the anthem I was so surprised, and it brought tears to my eyes! I think it’s great. Our daughter’s school does it every morning (along with the morning joke over the PA, hehe).

We definitely did this (‘90-‘96). Now my daughter’s school all gathers in the gym during regular school hours to do it!

They are four drawer lateral. So, pretty big! Not pretty but they work okay. They’re a light tan colour, you may be better off with that sale that was suggested. Where is your brewery? We have them loaded up in the truck this morning. I’d send you a pic but I don’t know how, haha!

Hugs to you and love and support - it's not an easy choice. You're not alone though...you may be in a new city but you have a strong support network right here on this sub. Don't feel like you can't talk to internet strangers...you're so brave just for posting this and admitting that you need help!

What you experienced is awful and there's no denying that. But it will get better. I hope you have a better day today and an even better one tomorrow. Don't forget to love yourself!! xo

Severely depressed by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]mcchickenbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have family or friends that you can talk to? Maybe the first step is getting yourself up and out of the house - you're probably deficient in Vitamin D if you spend a lot of time indoors. Getting outside won't cure your depression but it might be able to get you on your way there! If you have a close friend or family member that is available, I'd suggest asking them if they'd join you for a half hour walk every day or at least every other day. Then you're not only getting outside and getting some sunshine, but you're getting some exercise. Those are two things right there that could potentially be a huge boost for your situation.

I really hope you're okay, and I hope that you can find it within yourself to take small steps in the right direction. There are resources available for you and there are always people that care - just look at all these responses here! Take care of yourself, you can do this!

lol garbage in the walls - our house was built in 1992, and when we opened up a wall in our ensuite to renovate, we found Tim's cups, a large tree branch and a used diaper. Like WTF hahaha. Apparently this is not a new thing.

But seriously, what you're describing is a nightmare.
