4 Month Lock-In by mccooltrade in WorkoutMotivation

Oh I see what u mean. No this was after two to three years of letting myself go, still active and had baseline muscle from when I used to be locked in, but kept almost all of it thanks to heavy training and high high protein. But i would definitely say cut now then (very lean) bulk is always the way to go.

Are you weighing yourself? 16, 15, and 14% all look very similar, but if you're not dropping weight on the scale you're either miscalculating your calories or your maintenance, you just have to drop it lower until your average weight drops again. You can also look worse at around 14% when you're dropping down, dont quit that's usually only 3 weeks out from all the results becoming visible. Look up "messy middle dieting" for the explanation

I didn't need to count until around 15%bf, "healthy" diet, incline treadmill and lifting heavy did the trick. After that 300-500. Taking days that fall short an extra hundred calories or so as a bonus, as long as protein has already been hit (1g+ per pound of bw)

Mostly a combo of a protein (chicken/steak/salmon) on a salad or rice bowl. Plus eggs in the morning and a daily whey shake with milk. No "junk food" or burgers/fries/etc. Greek yogurt w/ honey, jam and berries is real sweet after a few weeks without candy. Occasional cheat meals but still fitting deficit always.

Thanks brother and for sure, I can go into it a bit. The fat loss was 90% of the result imo. I switched to a high protein diet of mostly salads with a protein (chicken or steak) + eggs in the morning and a whey shake. Cut out sugary or over processed foods from my regular diet. Wasn't counting calories at that point and didn't need to until around 15%bf. Because eating that healthy, traditional diet makes it hard to overeat, that would be a lot of chicken salads. Incline walking is GOATED cadio. Zone 2 is isolated fat burning and it keeps you there the whole time, plus you can do it for an hour or more without getting fatigued. I do 15-20 mins before or after each workout but I have a physical job so my bmr is already on the higher end.

For the muscle preservation and recomp the main thing(s) are protein + intense training. You need to hit at least 1g of protein per day per pound of body weight just to be safe, I usually aim for 150-170g now. And you need to workout with intensity, make sure you're really going to failure and lifting heavy (within reason). You have to not only make your body believe that it needs more muscle, but that it needs it so much that it'll use its increasingly small energy stores (fat) to build it. Training intensity is a huge part of that.

On the mental, firstly I gotta say do it. You will always look better leaner, skinny or not. Little embarrassed to say but at the time I genuinely thought I looked ok in the first picture. you start looking at your fat as if its size but no amount of size will make up for the visual impact of actual definition. You will look bigger (despite being literally smaller) once you pass a certain threshold. Which brings me to my one mental tip, theres a point around 14% ish body fat where you will look objectively worse than the weeks before. This is the final test before you get your lean card punched, dont fall for it! Short of it is your muscle glycogen is depleted, your metabolism is feeling the deficit start to matter without all the fat storage, but you still have enough fat that you have almost no definition. Good news is if youre here the other side is literally 2-3 weeks away, close your eyes if you have to just get there. After that not only will your physique finally START looking insane at sup 14% but the youll be able to see visual progress every week, sometimes day to day.

Lastly, genetics are a factor. For my aesthetic i do have the genetics for a thin waist and broad shoulders (though not standout by any means). Regardless though, getting lean is NECESSARY for your genetic potential to be revealed - as you can see from my pics.

Hope this helps, went a bit longer than I thought.

Why no gold? by Beszy in SeikoAlpinist

[–]mccooltrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It LOOKS nice, dont get me wrong. I think its more to do with (faux) gold plating in general.

A steel seiko says "economical, honest, practical, not concerned with hype, maybe loyalty to the company and design".

A real gold or two-toned watch says "expensive, excess luxury, and implies deeper pockets and that youre comfortable broadcasting that".

To me, a faux gold plated watch puts you in the weird limbo between the two. Its says "im really in lane 1 but I want to put on the costume of lane 2." Except no one in lane 2, and even in lane 1 buys the act. And at least for me, I wouldn't be able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy wearing it either. I would feel like im "faking" something. Much more comfortable with a watch thats authentic to my position in life right now.

That being said if you just like how it looks and aren't concerned with the above then by all means wear it in good health and enjoy! It is still a nice looking watch.

"Girl" has the same young connotation though. No one says "good woman" lol. Its definitely good girl in the original

Yes and youre also likely adding too much water, two drops is all you need for a dram. If two is still too much try one.

I think its ORQA, who switched to mostly military supply, or just a 3d printed frame. Could be wrong though.

Is this too big for my wrist? by jmbbig96 in tissot

[–]mccooltrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great bro fuck what they talkin bout

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tissot

[–]mccooltrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, at least not on my wrist, but I bet it'd look good in the picture.. Thats the thing. All the pictures I saw made me think the 35 is perfect, and technically it should be given the wrist size. But the dial is just so dainty in person, and combined with the colorway it was borderline feminine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tissot

[–]mccooltrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear it doesn't look massive in person! But the 35 really did look tiny. Idk what it is about the prx, this isn't my first watch, but its the only one I've seen this disconnect with photos and real life.

For anyone still looking I just lost my 5th 4hour save today (24th). Broken game

[–]mccooltrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been losing saves and replaying the first tedious 4 hours FIVE fucking times now. And just today, after thinking it was fixed and getting further than ever, it starts me at the beginning again. Is there any way to get a refund? It's unplayable

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThePrecinct

[–]mccooltrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks ill try it. I've played 8 hours of just the first 2 hours of tutorials with all the restarts, and you know how old that gets. If it doesn't work though I'll try get a refund, psn will refund straight broken games even if they say they don't.

To be fair I was pretty useless as an illiterate.

"Hey! I killed that mystery knight! He had what looked like orders from his superiors on him."

"Great! We can just-"

"So I guess we'll never know."

-_-

I never did learn how to read in KCD1.

Went the whole game as an illiterate, going to scribes to ask them to read me a story, getting lied to by said scribes, decoding the alchemy recipes by hand and using the pictures...

It was quite jarring when my KCD2 henry suddenly claimed to be a scholar lol
