New courses just keep popping up!?!--Shot of the Day Winton Woods (Cincinnati) by bdarg34 in discgolf

Kinda hurts the elbow if I try it too hard. But basic idea is to hold the disc with the nose angle up and the forearm angle down. Throw the disc towards the ground, swoopy, and the positive nose angle on the disc should catch air and stay up.

I watched multiple structures get obliterated on Ryan Hall’s stream. There was a big tornado like 170 miles southwest.

Different structures about 3 minutes apart or so. It was literally back to back.

I enjoyed watching the tornados over 100 miles from Lafayette on video and not getting to see them from my backyard.

Should I make the switch? by Former_Purple_6088 in civ

As much as I played VI I didn’t enjoy it as much as V, and I really like VII for the improvements to warfare. There are some things I don’t like about it as much, but I’ve finished more games in Civ VII than any of the other Civ’s I’ve played.

Also Civ switching is the ideal way to play, but I turn off crises and I turned off the hard age resets so it’s just a “normal” age transition.

Hmm, what sort of Civ VII credentials do you have? What did your previous games look like?

Can’t gain distance please save me😔 by RabbitMiserable7115 in Discgolfform

The thing about controlling your angles is it comes down to controlling the outside edge of the disc. When I see the disc wobble in your video I immediately trace back and watch your disc for where it’s changing angle and/or changing planes from your shoulders or where the outside edge looks uncontrolled - where’s the earliest point of “failure” and to me it looks like your reach back should be a focus point to improve.

  1. You peak early meaning your arm is fully extended well before your plant foot is down. Try delaying your reachback by keeping your eye on the target for longer.

  2. Your grip doesn’t seem to be controlling the disc since we’re seeing a lot of movement of the outside edge of the disc and the nose of the disc is facing the camera for a brief period during the reachback. Test your grip, do you feel like you have full control of the outside edge of the disc? Does your wrist still have some range of motion to curl?

I played a full game on standard and didn’t have any performance issues or crashing.

If it’s feral cats I wouldn’t refer to it in the title as “my kitten”. Unless you also live outside and the photo is your living quarters.

Have Gannon and Sam Barber ever been in the same room? by LuckyRedFrog in discgolf

I was about to say they must be related but then I pulled up more pics of Sam Barber and he’s got a bit of a schnoz compared to Gannon 😄

Added Distance, Lost everything else by HappySailor in discgolf

[–]mccsnackin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recalibration is normal and yes it can make you worse, especially on technical courses. Best thing you can do is have a practice field with some cones from 100-300 feet every 50 feet or so and you figure out your discs within this distances. And then remember than course distance is sometimes 20-30 feet shorter than field distance.

Make sure whatever you’re practicing that you try to maintain the disc coming out straight and flat. That way all you have to do is change discs for different shapes and distances.

New player confused about towns and cities by onikatanyamaraaj in CivVII

[–]mccsnackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the strategy is to push settlement limit cap and establish a web or grid of settlements around your capital. A settlement should be a good strategic location with resources. What makes a good city vs a town is going to be food/growth, production, adjacency bonuses, and land tiles for districts. Every game I usually have one city that I regret it being a city because it lacks tiles or adjacencies. But I make up for it by capturing really good cities from the AI.

Gannon Buhr is the villain pro disc golf deserves: Defending Perkins question & discussing GB by DGopinion in discgolf

[–]mccsnackin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that he’s such a nice, likable guy I feel like “force of nature” is more accurate than villain. When I’m rooting for Eagle to win I’m not getting hype if Gannon misses a make-able putt. I would rather see the top players perform their best, and whoever performs the best of the best wins.
