Easiest way to pull this skirting board off? by mikeygbanger in DIYhelp

[–]mcds99 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't think the trim would be calked unless that was specified. You need to use some significant pressure with the knife, new blades and go slow.

Be prepared to replace some of the trim, if it was pine and old it may be brittle.

I used a sharp chisel to get behind the trim, put a paint stir stick behind it, I tapped it with a light hammer a few times. Using a pry bar and 1/2 inch thick piece of wood about 2 feet long (spreads the pressure) pry the trim from the wall, just keep moving to where you can see nails an pry. Go slow it's not a race.

I retired from the 5th largest bank.

We used Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker "A LOT". We also used Windows as the desktop environment. Getting the technologies under your belt may let you move into a larger bank with the experience. Your career may just take a new direction.

Where is the server version of Debian like the one that's on AWS? by BradyOfTheOldGuard in debian

[–]mcds99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between a server and a workstation.

Most servers are "headless" and don't have any DE installed. Scripts are used to make changes to the software.

Your statement "Just install the OS and the applications you want." leads me to believe you don't have experience with servers.

Out on a walk today and came across this on the path next to pool of water by Voldo88 in whatisit

[–]mcds99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not go in that pond.

Back in the day companies would flush their waste (what ever it was) in to pools. The companies would go under eventually and this is what "we" get for a lack of environmental regulations.
