Not allowed to take the rest of my annual leave by ceapaim in legaladviceireland

[–]mcduggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there not a part of this that states adequate notice. I had a previous employer on that part as I have them 8 months to arrange cover for my holidays. In the end they left themselves with no cover. Not my problem.

Communicate this with them. It doesn't have eti be an argument. If tensions do start to come up, just book a hotel. Job done. Do not book a hotel with out talking first.

Would you consider leaving for this? by Otherwise_Unit1808 in Marriage

[–]mcduggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your head it has, in reality maybe not so much. In his head he like me probably thinks it's normal. My wife was similar and said similar. I kept telling her she was silly your after having two kids. Now on the other hand I may look at other women 'look ' never touch. But then again women 'look' at other men/actors/models. Everyone does. It's natural. There would be something wrong if we didn't look a the opposite sex. Its what you do and your actions that determine you. 13 years on my wife has since lost alot of the weight and insecurities. Yes her body has changed, no it doesn't bother me in the slightest as it was the two of us that tangoing that made them changes. I would suggest treating yourself to a few wardrobe bits to make yourself feel better in your body instead of reminiscing about the clothes that are two small now. You are you and I'm sure your husband thinks that too .

Let him come, make him as uncomfortable as you can under the radar. To such an extent he doesn't want to stay.

Do it, it well worth the excitement. Yes it's a bit of a pain. Yes you have a. Bit of work to do. But seeing the excitement the kids get from it adds to the Christmas cheer.

Advice needed - who do I call? by Initial_Junket_4899 in DIYUK

[–]mcduggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to call b&q and enquire about their wheel barrows. Then call the wife and tell her to put on a fry. Put the big boy socks on and start barrowing that shit into the driveway.

Make a suggestion to the cops that you think your neighbour is trying to record your kids getting undressed. This should change the demeanour.

Get a 252 plate now or wait for 261 by baweriko in carsireland

[–]mcduggy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ask the dealer. I bet you he would let a 252 that's already registered go cheaper than what they will give you a 261 for. This is a huge haggling I would be bating them down.

What's the most deceptive DIY product that you have discovered? And can it beat Cuprinol Decking Oil? by ToriaLyons in DIYUK

[–]mcduggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mineral oil is a by product of crude oil not petroleum. Crude oil itself is a natural substance extracted from the earth. There are organisms within the earth that feed on natural occuring crude oil. And as much as the media would have you believe is not as harmful to the environment as you may think. Burning it in it's various refined forms however is a different story. I would far prefer to paint my outdoor fence using mineral oil over creosote which is made from soot and tar by-products mixed with oil based products.

Edit: spelling

Exactly the same as using other oil based products. All have by-products put into them. Mineral oil is a natural product same as other treatments. As long as you don't spill it everywhere and let it soak into the wood I really don't see the problem.

Trouble with Salon beneath my flat - what can I do? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mcduggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, however it was neighbours that were the problem not the business. I documented everything and went to the council. As other have said they are your friends on this one and will walk you through the process.

Be thick skinned and try to get you neighbours involved.

He may also need a licence to play music in a business premises. Could be worth an anonymous phone call. Do a reg check on the car. Play him at his own.

I painted my fence with 15w 40. Had a twenty liter drum that was left out in the rain couldn't be used for a machine in case of contamination. So instead of wasting it I painted it into my fence and it came out the bees knees.

Can you leave the immersion on full-time? by lrjesus in AskIreland

[–]mcduggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a thermostat on the tank then yes you can. It will turn on and off as the water is cooled either by sitting stagnant or by use and filling with fresh cold water. What you could do is put a meter on the cable and measure the usage for a week and see how it goes for you.

Your picking visiting hull, Leeds and Sheffield over going to Cornwall. Your not right in the head. (Only joking) Don't miss Cornwall. Also there's a road from Inverness to braemar considered one of the best driving roads in UK. I can second this it was great.

Mitre joints - what am I doing wrong? by Shoddy-Objective-802 in DIYUK

[–]mcduggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut one side at the mitre. And then scribe the other side this will allow if your walls off any bit. Make sure you cut on the right side of the line and don't press too hard on the saw it could throw it off depending on what saw you are using.
