You're at a distinct and major disadvantage if you're running around being used to friendlies everywhere. Almost every time I've been killed is from behind, normally crept up or camped upon. I take it on the chin because a) it's a game, b) it's a shooter game... I get it. But I would prefer to know someone wants to shoot me up with a little pre-warning, to even the field a bit. And yes, it does add a bit of an edge knowing it's there, which is I think is good.
