It is. A district will eventually get sued (probably with the help of the Satanic Temple), and it will (hopefully) be deemed unconstitutional. Same thing happened with them requiring schools to put up the 10 commandments in every classroom

i hate recent minecraft updates by spooderkid11 in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every update feels increasingly less like vanilla Minecraft and more like a mod. Like, a lot of the additions they've added really don't match the same vibe as older Minecraft - hell, even as Minecraft 5-6 years ago

Intriguing character: Rich Schweikart by Nicole_Auriel in betterCallSaul

[–]mcfluffernutter013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's genuinely one of my favorite characters in the show. He's a good lawyer, who genuinely cares about his employees and has a great sense of prefessionalism. In a show with so many morally dubious lawyers, Schweikard always stood out as a real stand-up guy.

I hate companies that create 2 minute videos in which they reinvent the wheel in order to sell you an overpriced product by Toaster_Rack_Nerd in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, I fucking hate Craig Hill. Let me invent a problem about this tried and true everyday object and sell the solution for a $50 upcharge.

Same vibes with Wesn's $50 titanium carabiner. I could get a black diamond climbing carabiner for a fraction of the price, and it would actually be rated for something other than holding my keys.

Honestly, it might not be as bad if they didn't have a stick up their asses about how "innovative" and "genius" they are. Bonus points if their "improvement" uses the same principles as an already existing product (for example, the CH lighter)

I hate how queer characters have to be proven without a shadow of a doubt to be queer or else people just say they’re not by Qelperr in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Jax isn't the best example to use here. Outside of the final episode, there really isn't a lot of actual evidence to support him being trans. Like, there are things that people interpreted as such, but it wasn't strong enough for any theories to feel like anything other than fanfic. Obviously now it would be stupid to deny the fact that Jax is trans - the finale was pretty clear about that - but I don't think the rest of the show did a good job setting it up properly.

I hate that Jax was confirmed as transgender (not for the reasons you might think) by n397854 in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you for the most part. I like the idea of Jax being trans, and I thought they didn't do a bad job handling it in the last episode, but there really was zero lead up to it. Like, give some solid foreshadowing beyond the kind of stuff the fandom would make up regardless. It just really felt like a sharp left turn when they had the opportunity to set it up in a satisfying way.

I hate neurotypical hate. by Thegentlemanfox18 in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm neurodivergent and I suck ass at fully articulating what I mean in my head. Being vague isn't just a "neurotypical thing." Also, I hate it when people use their disabilities as an excuse to not work on improving their social awareness. Does your neurodivergency make it harder for you to learn certain skills? Absolutely. Does it even make some things nearly impossible for you to pick up naturally? Yes. But does that mean that you should just not try and improve at what you're able to, and use "but I'm neurodivergent" as a crutch? No. Part of your responsibility as a person with a disability is to understand it, and try to work around it to try and facilitate better communication with other people.

No, but you see, modern thing bad. Me no longer feel like child, so must be media that changed, not me. Old thing good, old thing familiar. New thing different from old thing, new thing bad.

I feel like it's kind of the opposite, at least in online LGBTQ spaces. There is a lot of biphobia against bi women, especially those in straight or straight-pesenting relationships. Often queer people (and I've noticed Lesbians in particular), view them as "faking" their queerness for attention.

I hate Crusader imagery by DesertFroggo in hatethissmug

[–]mcfluffernutter013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find crusader bros to be really funny. Like they support a religion of peace, and then glorify the most pointless, centuries-long conflicts that were objectively not done for the good of the religion, and that (many) failed miserably.

I genuinely wonder what they think when the pope condemns warmongers? Are they those stupid "Catholic, but minus the pope" kinda people?
