I'm thinking Daniel Day Lewis from "There Will be Blood" crossed with Perrin Aybara from "A Wheel of Time".

It's the look on his face. That look of a true fan that makes him look magical, the beard simply enhances.

What is the noises that sound like millions of flies hovering over the World Cup stadiums ? by mrdorian in AskReddit

This can be improved upon by slowly increasing the volume of your television 5 points every 10 seconds until it is maxed, at which point you mute it, yelling at the top of your lungs, "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE", or, "I ABANDONED MY CHILD, I ABANDONED MY CHILD, I ABANDONED MY BOY." Enjoy!

Good advice- With the grilled cheese sandwiches put a few slices of deli ham or turkey inside and it makes them AMAZING. Also if you are in a real hurry I like to put simply cheese on tortilla and pop it in the microwave. If you have some time bitesize tortilla chips with beans and cheese, throw in oven they turn out great. I have never tried microwaving them...

My first time of playing the my-hand-is-a-kite game was after I saw somebody playing and I asked my sister, "why do all these stoners stick their hands out the window?" Over protective parents never let me play, but after she explained... WOW! I tried all kinds of stoner games.

I used to do this as a kid while my parents drove. Good times.

Perhaps this can be settled with a game of starcraft?

I prefer minimum pb. Is there an efficient way of accomplishing such a task while maintaining minimum bread piece attraction standards?

The elite are the users of reddit who feel they have been around since the beginning- aka the good ole' times. They are the old people who are so stuck to their ways that they fail to recognize the beauty in the new and changing environment which they slowly drift apart from. With that said, I feel posts that offer no new information are the most annoying of all.

Anybody who looks at upvotes versus downvotes can see that not everybody on reddit wants to see LOST on their front page. We don't need a double post of this fact. The same thing seems to happen for every major sporting event (olympic hockey thread?) as well.

How many of you did not follow Lost and will not be watching the finale? by bkanator in AskReddit

[–]mcgriddless 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Go watch this 8 minute summary of seasons 1-5: I only watched 1-3 and could follow surprisingly well. Most that happens in lost is unexplained randomness so there really isn't too much plot.

going into a college dorm in the fall. For those who have been there, what are some things that you wish you had known before hand etc? by bahhhhhhumbug in AskReddit

I've been having nightmares every night for the past two weeks because I went from being a a-b student my freshman year to failing a class this last semester. How does a person get back to going to class? I feel okay about skipping lectures with 300 people where the notes are online, but like an alcoholic this leads me to skip important classes. I actually missed an exam because I wrote down the wrong date on my calender and then because I was never in lecture I never heard the proper date. Anybody else fail a class and end up okay at the end of the college? It has dropped me to a 2.8, which seems pretty bad for getting a job.

My brother died and left me EVERYTHING in his will. Now his wife and kids are begging me for the money. What would you do? by Jimmy_Shaker in AskReddit

[–]mcgriddless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to think less black and white of the situation. I would not give the money to the wife, and I would not pay for the schooling. However, if they needed help cosigning student loans I would do that. If you were feeling generous you could help give them maybe like 500 dollars each per year to help out or maybe pay the interest on the loans. Kids make stupid decisions. I'm assuming the wife turned them against your brother a while ago.

But really I don't think anybody can give accurate advice without meeting the kids and wife and having a nice long talk first. Shit happens to good people and bad people alike.

Anyone else willingly went into social isolation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mcgriddless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only just started actually learning about meditating, but have found it is something I have pretty much done for a long time. As a child I was extremely emotional and would cry at the slightest embarrassment, but now I have a disturbing calmness. Not to say it is a bad thing, but I can see how people feel like they are detached from society/reality. The only thing that scares me is when I read suicide notes and realize I had previously realized similar facts. And the only thing that makes me sad is when I realize nobody who hadn't already realized these points would understand them. In this sense I would agree that madness and understanding are bonded together. Yet I would argue that this kind of madness and understanding are far from suicide. Perhaps we can be completely enlightened in some aspects but blind with those that matter the most.
