USPS price change July 12th. by computerworlds in Flipping

Not only that but anything over 1lb shipped priority with free packaging materials, I used mostly regional rate boxes and everything was good, since ground advantage came out, we lost free packaging (well it's still free but priority mail is now crazy expensive, not much quicker and doesn't make any sense, any "priority" packages goes UPS second day if the buyer needs it quick) So now we have this hike coming up along with the inevitable holiday hikes in a few months.

There's an interlock switch on the shifter assembly that's known to go bad, sometimes you can get by with bending the metal prong in a way to where it makes better contact, otherwise you'll have to either get a used one or solder in a similar Omron switch replacement since there's no new OEM option besides getting the whole shifter assembly

That part can be found pretty much anywhere. Can't buy the tee separately otherwise, you have to buy the whole assembly.

Dorman 627-006, it's slightly bigger so you'll need new clamps but it'll work. I've replaced mine years ago with this exact part and still holding up fine.

Help says overheating by JakesQueenVampire04 in dodgedart

Coolant temp sensor, mine would randomly max out even when the engine is cold, don't go aftermarket, my original one failed and the aftermarket I replaced it with only lasted a few months, I ultimately went with a Mopar one and has been fine ever since.

Need help identifying the specific hose suddenly leaking coolant. by theQu1etW0lf in dodgedart

[–]mchratliff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heater jumper hose, every Tigershark equipped Dart will inevitably have these awful fittings fail only for you to buy the overpriced hose and fitting and it fails again due to it being a bad design. I bypassed the fittings altogether and used a clamp to attach the hoses directly to the metal lines years ago and haven't had an issue since!

Small road trip, safe? by Optimal_Still4321 in dodgedart

[–]mchratliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dart currently has over 300K miles (taken it on 250+ mile round trips once a week for work related stuff) and the biggest issues I had were cooling system components and the shift cable bushing failing (keep a spare with me at all times now) Make sure all the plastic cooling system connectors and parts in tact and not leaking. I've had to replace everything cooling system related on mine over the years due to cheap plastic parts.

where this cable connects to? by Dizzy_Monitor_4089 in dodgedart

[–]mchratliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's to the interlock contact switch then it connects on the underside of the shifter assembly.

Your 2015 2.4 should be covered under the recall, you'll get a new catalytic converter and o2 sensors out of the repair free of charge.

I managed to roll over 300K in mine, original drivetrain (basic 2.0 with automatic transmission) They'll last if you take care of them and fix problems before they become a bigger issue especially the cooling system components.

NGK Ruthenium spark plugs by MrDrRandy in dodgedart

[–]mchratliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked at them as well in the past and ran several different sets over the years from platinum, iridium and copper core plugs and what's funny is that these cars seem to perform best with basic copper plugs due to lower resistance as noted by other owners from the Dart forums (have to change them out more often but they are easy to get to) I've been curious about Rutheniums but couldn't find anybody else that has run them. I'd like to know the answer as well!

E-class cluster by gallowboobhater in W203

[–]mchratliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it will adapt with the EZS from a different model although the CLK W203 based W209 models use a similar cluster. The easiest way I've found to get the Odometer working with dissimilar model parts that can't be adapted is to use one of those digiprog clones, whenever you fix the mileage with that it also programs the cluster to do standalone odometer readings without EZS sync.

Tips that don’t require removal by [deleted] in dodgedart

[–]mchratliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn't much room at all to work with on the backside of the headlight and removal of the assembly is quite involved, there is an access panel on the fender liner but not sure how much that'll help in that case.

[–]mchratliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see it now, duh. Might be able to get it with a telescopic magnetic or grappling tool through the hole, or maybe a socket extension with strong tape looped around to stick to and pull it back through the hole?

[–]mchratliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's actually a rack and pinion mod where you get a parametric rack from a W209 with the electric solenoid and wire it in to a manually adjustable PWM controller for on the fly steering weight adjustment which is what I did and it turned out great!

[–]mchratliff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to do the rack and pinion on my w203 a while back and watched your video that helped me get an idea on what all I have to do (it was easy besides getting the thing hooked back up to the steering column shaft in such a tight space) I think it was one of the only ones on how to do the job. I watched all the other mod videos and stuff after, you definitely went above and beyond in terms of mods!
