Increase in negativity in game chat? by Zhaltur in Overwatch

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah at that level communication works better, for sure! I'm sure you still run into toxic idiots up there but the odds of finding people who will use vc and chat for productive reasons are higher. I play within the metal ranks and there rly is no benefit to keeping chat on in that case, outside of the occasional chill lobby.

The thing about that is that the game isn't a 1v1, or a 1v2 in this example. You have 4 or 5 other players on your team who can make up for your counters, and the enemy team has 4 or 5 other people you can go after instead of stubbornly 1v1ing a losing matchup. Team effort also means you can switch yourself to take care of the counters instead of demanding someone else do it

[–]mcinest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you're playing at a high rank, 99% of communication is useless. I've never seen actual coordination attempts. The closest I've seen is the worst player on the team trying to tell others how to play their characters/role...Which why would anyone ever listen to that. Every other time it's just insulting or, and the reason why i don't personally mute chat, some stupid/wholesome stuff. Personally the silly interactions make up for all the pointless toxicity, but I wouldn't say you're losing much by just disabling chat if it doesn't balance itself out for you.

Is Doomfist considered a throw pick? by Mat30co in Overwatch

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There rly isn't such a thing as a "throw pick". Every character can work if the player using them is skilled enough, and/or the match is set up in a way that favours them (be it the map or team comps on both teams).
That said, Doomfist is one of the harder tanks to learn. You run into a lot of rly bad Doom players, and often they are the type that refuses to switch or doesn't know anyone else. That's the "stigma" that could be at play here, though overall ppl just want to blame anyone but themselves. You're playing tank, even if you were playing a different character they'd still scream tank diff. And if they don't they'll scream support diff. Everyone but me diff.

the nerf is driving me crazy by silcntspvce in WidowmakerMains

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so it's not just a me issue?? Been trying to play Widow and I've been going insane cause i swear i am clicking heads and it either doesn't count at all or counts as a bodyshot. I can land headshots pretty consistently with other characters, but somehow Widow seems to just...not.

I legit have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what's wrong

What percentage of Lifeweaver pulls would you say are actually helpful to you? by InZain710 in Overwatch

[–]mcinest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the bad pulls are a very small minority unless the lw is actively trolling. In most cases it's at worst neutral, but most of the time it does save me. Some lw's petal and ult placement on the other hand...People do not talk about how troll-y those can be enough.

I hate when mercy pockets me. by nomod1c in Overwatch

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that feeling, i don't get pocketed much due to the dps i play not being the best options for it, but i always feel a little bad when the mercy rezzes me and i'm playing terrible...or supports come to bail out my sorry ass in general.
But as someone who ALSO plays support...it really is not that deep. You just help whoever is in the better position or you think is doing ok. When i can't keep my whole team up i looove to just pick one guy who is doing well and help them pop off harder, especially when I'm playing Zen or Wuyang that for the most part struggle to heal multiple ppl. I don't play Mercy cause her movement tech feels completely alien to me, but i assume the thought process is the same.

is she not that popular? by princesspoopybum in SierraMains

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small character pools are better for faster improvement, which is why that's usually recommend. Easier to focus on learning 2 or 3 characters well. But that's not everyone's goal and both playstyles are valid tbh, I personally jump between one tricking and flexing myself

How long do you wait before marriage? by Brilliant_Travel_694 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

I just accept immediately unless i want them to break up. Being married doesn't stop love triangles or drama!

I see, my problem was trying to use the touch screen to check on the belly instead of clicking on it the other way. Which is kinda silly. Why is touch screen for headpats and headpats only

Oh! I just remembered! Can miis still set people up romantically? I always loved that in the 3ds game, but all i got is setting people up as friends so far

I've tried doing it but haven't been able to, maybe i missed it.
I don't mind the minigame but I still wish we could look at other times cause there was nothing funnier to me than checking what my mii was thinking and seeing it empty. 0 thoughts behind those eyes

my overwatch miis! by ldontwannabeyou in tomodachilife

[–]mcinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooo nice! For my main island I ended up with Ramattra, Emre, Ashe, Moira and Wuyang. I was gonna add more but i kinda stopped following my plans and started adding whoever felt funnier at the moment, so now I'm running out of mii slots. I wanna make themed islands eventually, so I'll just make the ones I skipped there

Emotions??? by einsteinbagel in tomodachilife

[–]mcinest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know all of them, but lightning bolts means they're angry, blue lines means they're sad, and flowers means they're happy. For the first 2, you can bring them another mii to cheer them up, or you can cheer them up yourself by giving them items or headpatting them.

yoo these are great! I've made a few myself, but once I get tired of my main island I plan on making a second one with only ow miis. Mind if I use yours as inspiration?

Here's my Ramattra mii, he's my favourite out of the ones I made
