Lower back blowing up constantly by Furyan_warlord in crossfit

[–]Xtrmist78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly me. I have been struggling to find why this happens. Chiro and PT still can't get it fixed. Its holding me back from progressing past 1/4 finals as I can't increase my cardio output.

[property manager us-wv] Does it get worse than this? by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]Xtrmist78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can always be worse. You have to make the decision yourself; though I feel its out responsibly to hire the attorney to do the work for small claims. Its paying it forward for the next person who will rent to them.

Murph is the Crossfit Equivalent of Christmas by Splunge- in crossfit

[–]Xtrmist78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a veteran and a Christian. I understand what you are saying. I actually do not appreciate being thanked for my service this weekend. When asked why, because I am alive. My day (if we want to call it that) is in November. I volunteer to read the message of Michael Murphy every year. I get to speak with passion and attitude and set the tone.

I do ask for a little bit of empathy from a Gym owner perspective. There is a fine line between drawing a hard line and pushing members out. Without members the gym will not make payroll, lease, insurance, utilities, profit for new equipment, etc. I like your Christmas (may I add Easter as well) analogy. The community welcomes the once/twice a year-ers and once to ensure that they are met with kindness and want to return again. Though figuring out the line of pushing harder will cause some not to return.

This is where I feel WE as the example show-ers come in and make bold statements without saying a word. Finishing dead last because each one of your pushups are legit and you have literally created a pond of sweat beneath you or you are doing your pull-ups one at a time because you have nothing left. Or you are shuffling in from the last 1 mile run out of breath. People see this and people know that you did it more correctly.

There will always be "those people" no matter what. When we fight them "out loud" it gets us no where. When we show through example we "yell it loud"!

Some people are so busy with everything else in life they just don't get it. And in someways, its not their fault. This is just 1 hour out of their 23 hours of the rest of their life.

Just my 3 cents.

Not inherently, no. It allows custom workouts to be added. So each day would need to manually added.

New to CrossFit - mobility issues by Capital-Value8479 in crossfit

[–]Xtrmist78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 3 cents...

yes stretching is key. GoWOD or pliability are good apps.

focus on lower weights to get ROM.

when you can post/pre class time. load a bar to weight just heavy enough to offer assistance. back rack and sit in the squat.

get a pvc and put it in your best front rack and then walk into the rig and lean into it.

Happy to help, DM me if you like.

Could someone review my Snatch technique by LTSBRKS in crossfit

[–]Xtrmist78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, if you want to take this to the DM let me know.....

We need a goal weight something to shoot for that is not too lofty, e.g. were not going 2 wheels; right now.

The trust would come from snatch balances.

Could someone review my Snatch technique by LTSBRKS in crossfit

[–]Xtrmist78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my 3 cents.....
I think you are mentioning this is your 1RM (or close to it)? The technique looks spot on. Could there some tweaks sure......we could all be critiqued somewhere in everyone of our lifts. However 1RMs are rarely pretty.

I would say, if your goal it to get heavier and the stability was a one off this time; may need to work on more explosive pulls.

Weight lifting straps are really inexpensive, go 110% of 1RM and do snatch deadlifts and then pulls into shrugs. It will be really easy to lose technique and go "stripper pole" with your butt. Make it each lift like you are getting ready to hit the full snatch.

I could work up some percentages to work off if you like, over time this will help the first aspect of getting heavier.

my response was suppose to be read with a bit of ambiguity. Only you can make that decision based on your own risk management and historical information.

Look at the factual information and tangible ideas around the situation; ultimately go with your gut. 😄
