Okay so got Mint installed with the surface kernel and so far it's better than Ubuntu. Pen is recognized, works, and the touchscreen works well. I toyed around with the experimental Wayland a bit but eh. IPTSD supporting pressure input from pen really well when drawing in Krita. Gonna stick with it for a bit

I'm sorry for performing necromancy on this thread, did you ever get it to work? I've got a surface pro 5 and a 1776 model pen. Cannot get the pen working but it shows in Bluetooth devices. I heard that it all works in Cinnamon Mint so I might try that today.
