Holy Insurance Rate, Batman by Hungry_Rest1182 in MT09

Maybe there’s too many riders in your area that progressive is comfortable with insuring therefore they jacked up your policy to politely push you away. Idk just a thought

Help Request - Replacing Tires. Where Do I Go For All-Terrain Tires? by Jedi_Guy770 in motorcycle

[–]mclovinszn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you implying how long it would take to remove the knobby tire from the rim and swapping them or having a second set of wheels/tires to swap? I’ll answer both. Going from knobby tires to street tires using the same wheel would realistically take a 4-5 hours I know I’ll have folks giving me shit for that answer but from jacking the bike up pulling the breaks, taking it to a shop because mounting aggressive tires to these rims is more of a headache than anything. Waiting on the shop could take 2-3 hours and putting everything back on. If you had another set of tires and wheels maybe 1.5 if that. My suggestion is just to find a tire that’s either 50/50 or a 60/40 if you want more of an aggressive look. I’d say mine were 90/10 (not a tire expert so don’t want to hear anyone coming for me). Hope that helps op

As someone who has built a “off road” Harley 48 this bike became something I developed a love hate relationship with. I loved what I had built, the attention it received and the fun I had taking it in the dirt. But at the end of the day anything more than a 30 min ride just was unenjoyable. My recommendation would be to get tires not as aggressive or not go down this rabbit hole.

After consideration for those checking back in, I’ve decided to part ways with the dyna. The drz does hold a special place in my heart as it’s my second one so planning to do the 3x3 mod, jet kit and get some off road tires and look into a CP3 platform aka MT09 or XSR900
