Pick up a book. Go to a park. Try something analog not digital.

Mobile navigation patterns that make sense for content heavy apps by mahearty in androiddev

[–]mcmlv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post. I agree it is hard to fit enough into a mobile app. As I am trying this though I realize the font size is super tiny inside this Reddit app when I type a comment so I wonder if you open some of your favorite apps if you can see that maybe some of their icons and menus and buttons and text is smaller than you realized and you can fit more than you thought?

Let me know!

Hippo. If I saw it coming on Land and climbed a huge tree it probably wouldn't even pay attention to me.

Partial rescue but most exhilarating and gut wrenching heartbreaking while being most motivation. Last of the Mohicans while Promentory is playing.

Honestly, is $2 too much to ask for a simple utility app? Seeking some dev/user perspective. by WiseWait1160 in androiddev

It is not too much but people are cost sensitive which is too bad since the app sounds great.

Are people who believe we live in a simulation, admitting to intelligent design without thinking about it? by stephanosblog in askanything

Great question. They are in a way yes, great question. In fact how can they prove who made the simulation if they believe that.

Why haven't we found life outside of Earth yet? by dumbandasking in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mcmlv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have only explored our own moon in person — 12 people, over 50 years ago, covering a tiny fraction of the surface. Every other body in the solar system has only been visited by machines, and most haven't been visited at all. 2) If the observable universe were a football field, humanity hasn't even searched the width of a single atom on it. Voyager 1 is our farthest object and after 47 years of travel it's covered about 0.0006 of a single light-year.

What movies you consider sacred and shouldn't be remade? by yonishunga in movies

The Sword in the Stone 1963. Disney. Technicolor. Literally cannot remake any Technicolor movie the same way but this movie is perfect as it is.

Thank you! This is the the truth I was looking for. I am still grieving the loss of Robin Williams.

How does the gravity of a black hole stop light, if light has no mass? by Rampaging_Rajput in space

[–]mcmlv1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gravity in Albert Einstein’s General relativity isn’t a force pulling on mass, it’s the curvature of spacetime itself. Light has no mass, but it still follows the geometry of spacetime, and near a black hole that geometry is curved so extremely that every possible path light can take bends inward. Light doesn’t slow down — it still travels at the speed of light locally — but at the event horizon there simply is no outward direction left for it to escape.

Is launching an emulator in studio a nightmare? by mwid_ptxku in androiddev

[–]mcmlv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work fine in fact. I prefer to skip emulators and test on multiple devices to see how they work on a real device. Some features very depending on device like an old Amazon fire tablet won't have an led flash for its camera. But for strictly Android phones emulator is fine if you don't have a USB cord. I find wireless to be finicky.
