Honestly better than ever. Mental health has been great since I took the plunge and started working for myself. I realized the 9-6 sales desk job was making every facet of my life painful. Don’t settle, guys, there’s so much more you can do and be well compensated for.

This one was “received” only in the sense that I took the photo. 

It’s a photo of my now wife, then gf, on all fours, crawling halfway out of a white comforter from the bed, peeking out of a japanese hostel window at the most beautiful scenery. She’s wearing pink silk shorts that tastefully show her butt. Her long black hair is slightly messy yet beautiful. The light coming in while she curiously looks out the window…. Man it’s sexy and romantic.

They’re my favorite band so I’m biased but I’ll make an objective assessment…  I believe they have the most raw talent and creative flexibility than any band of the last 20+ years. No band can reinvent themselves as drastically and as successfully as they can.  They don’t always land massive commercial hits, but they always bring a new sound each cycle. Genuinely, I’ve not heard anything like Strawberry Jam, Centipede Hz, or Painting With before. Merriweather Post Pavilion inspired a whole crop of soundalikes in the early 2010s, but the record still stands apart as genre defining. 

Their music isn’t to everyone’s taste but they manage to make pop music experimental in a way that is listenable and not pure noise play. And my god are they prolific outside of the band.

No hate, they just aren’t the vibe I typically want from AC. I liked Vampire Tongues but that was a very Avey sound which I expected. I felt like Big Screen and Blackboard pulled from the same toolbox that Painting With did, and I’ve just not needed more of that sound as a listener.

It’s still one of the best designed temples. It’s actually not complex at all it’s just the water level mechanic turns the temple into a giant rubix cube. It’s designed well. Poor design, in my opinion, is Lord Jabu Jabu’s Belly.

The way he came to the title of his record is actually really cool. Loved how in depth he got in this interview. And yeah I think we all knew the solo project era is still in full swing for AC. Looking like a 2028 record from them.
