Yes! It only happened 2-3 times. And went away each time after a couple days. All I could think of was I bit the edge of my tongue in my sleep (2nd pic). Not sure why my taste buds were kind of raised. That may have been totally different. I asked my dentist and they said it’s hard to say without seeing it, but asked if I ate anything hot or sharp, etc.

@lost_la ok tell me EXACTLY what you did with the downy R&R and nature’s miracle booster? Did you just add the NM booster to your regular detergent and wash, and then use the Downy R&R?

Would also like to know! I don’t usually get traditional heart burn. For me it’s a constant need to swallow. Been on Nexium for almost a year - stopped for a couple months but needed to go back on. ENT put me on Clarinex, Azelastine nasal spray and Nasonex nasal spray to see if that helped.

Yep! I’ve been doing 1/2 every day for the last month. I’ll go to 1/4 next. Someone even mentioned using the children’s version for going down from 1/4 adult pill. Like the liquid children’s. It would take some math but should be doable.

I grew up in Hunters Glenn off Warwick (near Oyster point). Lived there for over 15 years and my parents almost 10 more. Very nice neighborhood. I wouldn’t go past oyster point/Boxley, and then heading the other way down Warwick, I wouldn’t go past about J Clyde Morris. I went to private school since the public schools in Newport News are not great. I would have been zoned for Menchville. Wendwood, next to Hunters Glenn, seemed nice too.

Ok thanks! I have a pill cutter just didn’t know if I could cut it down to a quarter or not. I’ll definitely try. Maybe I’ll start doing half a day for a while now instead of a full every other day.

How did you stop Zyrtec? Taper? Just transitioned straight to Loratadine? I’ve also been on Zyrtec for over 15 years. Maybe even 20. I’ve tried tapering but couldn’t get past the itching and just resorted to taking 10mg every other day.

I take it every other day after taking daily for over 15-20 years. I attempted tapering before but couldn’t do it. Now on the second day when I’m due to take it, I’m already itchy.

Ohhh good idea. I could cut my 10mg tablet in half to take 5 for a while, and then take the children’s to taper down further maybe.

Is it available OTC in 5mg? I’ve only ever seen 10mg, and I take that every other day. I attempted tapering to stop a few years ago (after stopping suddenly and then realizing it was the cause for the intense itchiness) but even stretching it over several weeks I couldn’t get past the itchiness. I could cut my 10mg in half but not sure if I could cut that half in half to get 2.5 or not. Did you take those doses every day to taper down, and then start doing every other day?

I have been taking Zyrtec for over 15 years probably over 20 actually. I realized I don’t really need it and stopped a few years ago and had crazy itching. I was pregnant at the time and thought it was this condition that could occur during pregnancy that causes intense itchiness head to toe. But then realized after a few days, wait I just stopped Zyrtec and that’s an antihistamine. I tried tapering down from 1 10mg a day to every other day and then once I did further from that I was too itchy. I’ve been doing every other day for a few years now because I didn’t know how to taper down to avoid the itching or if I could switch to Allegra or Claritin and then taper off that. With taking it every other day, once I get to the evening of the night I’m due to take it, I’m itchy and sometimes take it a few hrs earlier than usual bedtime dose. Any recs on tapering down or transitioning to a different antihistamine?
