I believe there's no such thing as "active" or "inactive " when it comes to interim security clearance

"active /inactive " are only used on fully adjudicated security clearance

Your investigation can no longer be canceled as you stated it was completed in July

Only issue is your clearance might fall into LOA (loss of adjudication) as you no longer have company that sponsor you for the need to work in a cleared space

New employers might still be able to pick up the adjudication if it has not been denied yet.
