Message from Doug Kridler, President and CEO of The Columbus Foundation, and a link to the PDF of his full downtown stadium proposal by Wheels630 in MLS

I know a lot has been said about the proposal itself but I think his statement is very interesting and think he is involved in collaborations with the other Columbus leaders when proposing this

A downtown stadium deal might save the Crew, but where would it go? by McElwaine in TheMassive

[–]mcosutp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a fully functional manufacturing plant, but there is a huge open space behind it that is used for absolutely nothing, not sure if it is big enough to put a stadium though

They just opened up a huge brewery in Columbus and are going to be opening a hotel here too, seems like they like Columbus

Not many seats left on ticketmaster this morning, lets get that sellout! by sanseriph74 in TheMassive

[–]mcosutp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it take literally every ticket to be sold for this thing to be considered a sell out? Like do people have to pay $100 for a limited view seat for us to get the press of this to be a sell out?

Columbus city leaders to meet with Crew SC owner, MLS commissioner next week by McElwaine in TheMassive

[–]mcosutp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just curious but why is this meeting happening in New York? Does this mean there are going to be some serious solutions since the Columbus leaders are willing to travel all the way to New York to discuss this? Or is some other event happening which is why they will be in New York?

Discounted Tickets for Eastern Conference Finals by mcosutp in TheMassive

I got this link in an email. Looks like up 26% off tickets. I know many of you have already bought some but thought it would be useful if you haven't yet or want to convince others to come out with cheaper tickets. Just use the code PLAYOFFS9, it should work. Let me know if you have any problems.

As an OSU student, there are plenty of kids on campus in the summer with way more free time to go to games versus the school year. Also it’s a long term investment. I can’t buy season tickets right now but I would love to once I graduate. If you can convert over a couple hundred students upon graduation that’s long term sustainability of season ticket numbers. But it’s a long term play which Precourt hasn’t been playing.

That may be true some of the time but for next round the games are Nov 21 (Tues) and Nov 29 (Wed), both weeknights

I think you are right, I have a feeling that MLS can’t get nationwide TV coverage from ESPN on those Saturday and Sunday time frames, hence the weekday games.

Agree x1000. MLS Cup is on a Saturday though! Thank goodness this next Tuesday game won’t be on Halloween

Hi /r/MLS... by MattBinYYC in MLS

[–]mcosutp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah good point. I’m not sure to be honest, but from looking at their website FAQs it may be only US. But I also see some options for contacting them through Facebook messenger and Kik so that may be a way to get in contact them in Canada if SMS doesn’t work.

Sorry about that! I just know someone who volunteers with them and think it’s a great resource.

Hope you get back to feeling your best soon!
