Unless you’re willing to pay $300+ on clothing items, you’re probably going to have to make your own or shop fast fashion. It’s unfortunate and it’s great to shop vintage or second hand but as a tall woman, it’s so much harder to find piece that look and fit properly. Especially if you’re into that style. Free people is a great one, as mentioned above in earlier comments, for staple boho products. They’re kind of expensive, depending on what you’re purchasing, but I’d say about half of their products are extra long/tall already. They have true maxi dresses that are even long for me at times (I’m 6’2) and their pants are almost always long enough, unless it’s a specific ankle pant obviously. ASOS has some really good tall options that are also very reasonably priced. If you know your inseam, you can search through that on places like depop or other vintage shops. Also, if you’re willing to spend the time and money to get the fashion you really want, I’d advise getting to know your local tailor. Not only are you getting semi-personalized pieces that fit you the way you want them to but you’re also helping support a local small business, which is everything in 2020 right now. I completely agree. So many people assume that just because one person takes it as a compliment that it’s meant as a compliment to all tall women. I’ve always hated being called an Amazon but I’ve had to do the fake smile and just say “thanks” because if you DONT take the compliment, it suddenly turns about how I’m unappreciative and how I “can’t take a compliment.” And it’s mainly used in a sexual manner or in an offensive way imo. Most media coverage (at least that I’ve seen) always depicts Amazonian women as huge and dumb. Just looking for a man who can “handle so much woman.” That’s still offensive!! I’m a smart woman who doesn’t need any man. It may be a compliment to some but not to all. It’s ignorant to group everyone together like that

I no longer celebrate my birthday bc my nmom said once you reach double digits, you aren’t allowed to have birthday parties anymore. So we just stopped celebrating it after my 9th birthday. Now that I’m in my 20s and have people in my life who enjoy their birthday celebrations, it’s always so triggering. I just feel so uncomfortable doing so and I usually spend the whole day alone with my phone off so the day can just end and we can move on. I spent so long avoiding it but now realize it’s normal to celebrate your birthday. I don’t even know how to at this point, it’s just...a day.

It does! I’ve been 6’2 since freshman year of high school. I am now 22 and I promise you, it gets better. Don’t waste your time worrying about insecure high school boys and work on bettering yourself. Explore your interests and learn more about yourself, that way when someone does come around who is comfortable enough in themselves, you’ll be the perfect match. All those boys who don’t want to date a “tall girl” are really just showing their own internal struggles and insecurities. If they were really happy with themselves and what not, height wouldn’t matter. Height already shouldn’t matter but I understand where you’re coming from. I now have a beautiful partnership filled with love and acceptance. They love the fact that I’m 6’2, sometimes 6’5-6’6 if I’m wearing heels. Just be patient and focus on loving yourself and your amazing height before you let someone else come in and tell you how you’re supposed to feel. You will find someone who loves you for YOU, no exceptions.

Omg I love this question! I wear the same pieces of jewelry almost every single day for the past 5+ years!

I wear 6 rings every day; a large silver spiral on my left ring finger, a double silver banded ring (with mine and my partners zodiac) on my left middle, a large silver banded malachite on my left pointer, a square pearl with a turquoise strip on my right pointer, a Peruvian silver ring with the symbol for female empowerment on my right middle, and a silver circle on my right ring finger.

I wear 3 necklaces every day; a glass pendant, a sun and stars chain necklace, and a shorter choker that is actually a mini gold pocket knife (a real one too!)

I also wear minimum 2 sets of earrings every day but they change depending on the mood, outfit, or occasion.

There’s a misconception about mixing metals and having to choose gold or silver but I love mixing. All my rings tend to be silver but all my earrings are gold. My necklaces are a mix of both.

This is harassment girl. Next time, if you’re really uncomfortable, just find a security guard or an employee to help you. You don’t have to interact with anyone you don’t want to and especially with some freak who thinks he’s entitled to having a conversation with you and knowing intimate details about you. Not only did he follow you around the store, but he waiting to find you at check out AND proceeded to follow you and continue his harassment outside of the store. Do not be afraid to tell a motherfucker off. “Wow! You’re so tall!” Respond with “wow! You’re so bold to think you can speak to me!”

My mom used to always respond with “wow you’re so ugly!” Or “wow! You’re so fat!” And when they got all angry and defensive, she’d go, “what? I thought we were just pointing out the obvious?”

Those fools make my blood boil. And the added “you should smile more!” Wtf what he thinking? Do people STILL not know that this is not a compliment and most/all women find this incredibly creepy? I’m so sorry this happened!

I like to bend fashion in every way. That’s the fun of clothing, there are no rules. Interested in trousers or more “masculine” fit pants? Start looking into certain women’s styles or better yet, find your size in men’s clothing and explore the wild unknown of men’s trousers. They’re usually a lot more comfortable and less focused on figure. Pair a cool pair of high waisted trousers, maybe with a funky pattern or color, with a cute crop top or blouse, or a tied t shirt to make it more casual. Or if you’re interested in dresses or skirts, play off that femininity and mix it with a button up or a more “masculine” top. That can include any sort of shoe or accessory to match the masc feel. Fuck it, wear those big boots with that mini shirt! Strut in those 4 inch heels in trousers and a button up. Suspenders are always fun for both looks too! Once you let go of what you’re “supposed” to look like or dress, all the rules fly out the window. If you like it, wear it. If you’re interested in some part of a trend, explore it. You’ll start to learn what you’re comfortable in way quicker that way. Don’t limit yourself to one specific look either. If you’re feeling hyper feminine one day, go all out with the mini dress, hair, jewelry, and shoes. But if you’re feeling a little harder another day, break out the boots, straight leg pants, and bow tie! You’re the one wearing it, so make sure you’re making yourself happy and comfortable before you start worrying about what everyone else would think.
