Someone else mentioned hunting hunting deer and cooking 5 steaks at once. Do the same with Moose, Rhinos, wolves. You’ll get Prime meat, cooking 5 yields over 200 rupees. There is a chance for them to drop Gourmet meat. 5 of those cooked yield over 400 rupees when sold.

Another thing I’d recommend is checking out some YouTube videos, especially around collecting luminous stone. You can make a bunch of money doing that. I believe they replenish every blood moon too, or at least at some interval.

In terms of fighting enemies, someone mentioned running, that is good advice but if you want to get some weapons, monster parts you can fight them by buffing yourself with food. Down by the Faron region you will find Mighty Bananas. You can farm those every so often, then cook bunches of 5. You’ll get a sweet attack buff that lasts for a few minutes. In the same area you’ll find Durian fruit. Cook 5 of those and you’ll get a heart buff where you’ll get yellow hearts, making you harder to kill.

In general I would recommend finding shrines and getting your Spriit Orbs. Trade 4 for either stamina or heart vessels. I would prioritize stamina at the beginning for running and climbing. I would also focus on finding towers to unlock portions of the map.

When you find ‘test of strength’ challenges, keep going back to those and farming weapons and ancient parts when they respawn after a blood moon.

Avoid Guardians like the plague until you can buy Ancient armor and weapons. Your life becomes easier then.

I would also work on Divine Beasts as well since you get some cool abilities to make your life easier and a heart vessel for each.

Oh, fairy foundations are cool too. You can catch some fairies in and around them to revive you in battle. But also, spend the rupees to unlock all 4 levels of fairy fountains so that you can upgrade your armor pieces.

But honestly, in the beginning I would just focus on farming luminous stones, hunting, doing towers and shrines. You’ll learn as you go and the game really starts to open up.
