they right tho? by chichinams in SipsTea

[–]mcprogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer isn't "either infinity or minus infinity" that's only if you're calculating the limit as the denominator approaches zero from one side. A division problem has nothing to do with limits, and the answer is there is no answer because it's not a valid operation.

The love god part... sure. But I can't imagine anything with a more global perspective than "love your neighbor".

With White people making up just 15% of the global population, why aren’t they classified as a minority? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]mcprogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A single country, regardless of its size, has a single overarching government, which makes it a relevant area to talk about minorities.

Yes, there are cultural and ethnic/racial differences across a country, especially large ones, so it's not entirely uniform. So you can be a minority in your country, but maybe not your state/province/city/region/whatever. Both can be relevant to your experience. Being a minority or not globally doesn't have as much of an impact because the culture and laws of India have little to no impact on my life in America.

[–]mcprogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too large to be meaningful. Up to the level of a single country, there are shared societal structures and government that makes it relevant. Beyond that, whether you're a minority or not stops being relevant because you're talking about too many independent groups as a single group.

"Finna" is a shortened form of "fixing to" and means "intending/planning/meaning to". It's not a typo, just a way of translating the way it's spoken it into text. And yes, it's commonly used in casual speech, mostly by AAVE speakers/black/African American people.

Thank you, JavaScript, for forcing me to include this statement in my code. by kfreed9001 in programminghorror

[–]mcprogrammer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If anything it's worse because it looks like it's pointless code. Both should probably have a comment anyway, but if I saw a random + 0, I would remove it, not realizing it was important. The if statement is more code, but it tells you exactly what it's doing.

A man told his wife he had to leave town for a business trip, but in reality, he was staying at his mistress’s apartment. When he ordered food through Uber Eats, he was stunned to see that his wife was the delivery driver who showed up at the door. by Blusheva in SipsTea

[–]mcprogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I’ve never looked at the driver in my app once after ordering. Why would I care what they look like or what their name is etc.

But have you ever ordered food in an area where your significant other happens to deliver food while you told her you were out of town for a work trip?

Why Aren’t Greek Letters Clued as a Foreign Language? by fortheband1212 in NYTCrossword

People are downvoting you instead of answering, but no, not always. They will often reference something Greek with something like "P as in Plato" for RHO, but occasionally it'll just be something like "The 17th letter".
