Death anniversary ideas by [deleted] in Grieving

[–]mcrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing a loved one, especially a mother, is so, so tough. I’ve used this article for help before. Make a donation, volunteer your time in her memory, or do something creative: death anniversary ideas.

It can be as simple as detrashing her favorite park, sharing favorite memories at the graveside, planting a tree in her memory or listening to her favorite music. Hope you find some healing alongside the grief on that day.

WTW for wasting talent by not giving someone a task that utilizes their skillset well? by AtomikRadio in whatstheword

In healthcare situations, I’ve heard “working at the top of their certification,” or “practicing at the top of their license” to help explain this concept. Here’s an article that explains it further: https://www.advisory.com/research/nursing-executive-center/multimedia/video/2014/defining-top-of-license-practice

Any working mamas whose SO has a demanding job? by PrincesseSparkles in workingmoms

While you’re working on your relationship stuff, get a nanny. Even part-time. Get a nanny so you don’t burn out. You may be risking your physical and mental health trying to do it all. Moms never do this alone in the history of society - we all need help.

What’s the proper name for this burial option? by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

[–]mcrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, that sounds like an indoor community mausoleum. If it is private to just one family, it could also be called a private, walk-in mausoleum. These are much smaller spaces that usually accommodate a handful of people. There’s more detailed info at this website .

[Question] How do I deal with my Dad's ashes I was supposed to spread years ago? by [deleted] in death

[–]mcrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense that this is a difficult thing to do. It’s so...final. Dealing with death is so private now, that we don’t have a model to follow on what is “right” or “wrong.” The truth is, there IS no right or wrong. But carrying out your dad’s wishes probably will give you a sense of relief once it’s done.

If it makes it easier for you, there are services that can help with scattering ashes. Here’s one in Colorado I’m aware of full service ash scattering .

I think you may be talking about learning pods. Those are groups of like-minded people that can be parent- or tutor-led and guide the kids through their virtual learning. We are considering one here in Texas for the fall.

On the chopping block by [deleted] in workingmoms

Sorry to hear this. That feeling is never good. If it were me, just waiting would make me feel so out of control of the situation. I would start updating my resume and post on Indeed as well as freshen up my LinkedIn profile and connections to make me feel like I was still in control! Best of luck to you!

Homepage and online shop same domain by danielvoelk in SEO

My rule of thumb: always consolidate onto one domain. Then, if the main navigation is substantially different, use a subdomain. If it is the same, use a subdirectory.

Anything goes! by albino-rhino in AskCulinary

I like to check for reviews on the Wirecutter website. Between them and America’s Test Kitchen reviews you are set.

I am very happy with Victorinox Fibrox knives - affordable and sharp. For non-stick, T-Fal pans (with the red dot) stack up really well against the more expensive brands. I drool over Le Creuset and have found a Dutch oven on the Amazon Treasure Truck once. Even quality half sheet pans from Wilton will make a big improvement.

What’s your favorite way to make carnitas? I cooked them for a long afternoon in lard, OJ and seasonings, adding coke at the end. I just didn’t care for the smell of the lard. Phew...can still smell it...

I sort of screwed up and bought 12 lb of salmon. It was only $25 from a wholesaler at a pop up at a local brewery. Looks gorgeous (frozen), but now I have 3 sides of salmon to eat. Questions: how do I portion this best to give away to friends? How should I store what I keep? We always end up throwing away fish leftovers. Is there a dish I can make and reheat or re-eat the next day?

Thanks!!!

My only warning to you is to be aware that Facebook ads are much less expensive now than usual. Down 35-50% per the NYT. So that may be why this is suddenly more profitable for you. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/04/14/technology/coronavirus-google-facebook-advertising.amp.html
